ASDA is a huge company, with stores (both George and ASDA) across the nation, and thousands of employees. They also offer a two-year graduate scheme in the UK. If that sounds up your street, then keep reading for everything you need to know about the ASDA graduate scheme in the UK.

There are four different types of graduate scheme on offer. They have Finance, Data Science, Buying and George (fashion) programmes. In these, you will earn a Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification, or a CIMA on the finance scheme.

Each of these programmes offers a minimum of 2 rotations, allowing you to see the business from a number of angles. This lets you build your strengths, expand your skills and step into the world of work within a company that is fast-paced, diverse and evolving.

Applying

Applying for these roles may seem daunting, but ASDA has done everything they can to give you as much of a chance as possible. They do so by including a:

  • Blended Assessment

This includes a personality test, to assess whether you have the traits most likely to succeed, and aptitude tests to assess numerical, verbal and analytical reasoning. Essentially, these just assess whether you have the necessary skills for the job.

  • Video Interview

This is a pre-recorded interview, where you answer questions and the answers are recorded. The questions will be examples of day-to-day challenges to make sure you’re a good fit for ASDA. On the website here, it has a preparation list for these interviews.

  • Group exercise

This simulates a work scenario and is an attempt to measure your ability to work in a team.

  • Pitch

This gives you the opportunity to pitch an idea or a solution to a problem. You may be asked to analyse data or research to back yourself up.
