The brand new 250-seater Backyard Cinema in Wandsworth

The Backyard Cinema adventure is set to continue this September as it opens its first permanent home behind the iconic doors of Capital Studios at Ram Quarter in Wandsworth. Having played host to music legends The Beatles and David Bowie, as well as the nostalgic ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’, the former television studios have been brought back to life to offer an immersive, multi-sensory cinematic playground set to open in September.

The themed venue will expand on Backyard Cinema’s previous offerings to include an all-day bar serving cocktails on tap, beer and artisan pizza, accompanied by live music. It also boasts a separate 10 tap craft beer bar from Gipsy Hill Brewing Co. and will provide a residency for Mother Clucker & Honest Burgers in the large heated and seated courtyard. A craft beer bar, bespoke Honest Burgers, live music, vegan ice cream and even more immersive cinematic adventures than before. The new space has been created with the promise of adding value and excitement to the Wandsworth area, with community firmly at its heart. Locals will be offered the use of the new venue for community events, talks and more, whilst a local ticket discount will be offered to those in the area. Forming part of Greenland’s wider Ram Quarter development at the old Young’s Brewery site, it will sit alongside the completed first phase of new homes, retail and restaurant space in Wandsworth town centre.

Originally created in its founders back garden, and later as a roaming, pop-up cinema, Backyard Cinema has been known best for running themed seasons of films in different locations including Winterville, Camden’s Roundhouse and Winter Wonderland. The new Wandsworth home will allow Backyard Cinema complete freedom to develop its multi-sensory cinematic experiences, host more regular screenings and events for the community, as well as offering an exciting range of food and drink from some of London’s much-loved traders for customers to enjoy before and after the show.

Backyard Cinema at Capital Studios, Wandsworth will open 13th September. For more information and tickets please visit www.backyardcinema.co.uk.
