Manchester. A city bursting with life and culture. A city bursting with food. From Chinese, to Indian, to Italian; there is no shortage of cuisine in this city. And Vegan restaurants are no different. In recent years the amount of exclusively plant-based restaurants has increased as the popularity of a vegan diet has. In fact Mancunian Matters said that ‘Manchester was ranked second most vegan-friendly city in the UK with a score of 64.9 out of 100.’ So we’ve broken down Food & Living Vegan’s list to give you the best Vegan restaurants in Manchester based on their Tripadvisor rating.

Starting off our list with a solid 5/5 on Tripadvisor, the Ice Shack seems to be the place for families to enjoy a sweet treat. Reviewers on Tripadvisor also seem rather impressed in their vegan cakes, labelling them as the best in the land on more than one occasion. With this the Ice Shack is also able to accommodate those who have gluten allergies by provide a variety of gluten free options. They also offer a range of ice creams and milkshakes, perfect for those random hot autumn days that the UK’s weather loves to slip in every now and again.

Despite having countless positive reviews it is worth mentioning that in one of their most recent reviews someone who’s child had a nut allergy was told that they use the same scoop for all of their ice creams. Please be aware of this if you or anyone you know have nut allergies and decide to visit here.

Now this one, like the previous one, is a little different from the other places on our list as this one is also a fast-food restaurant. So it’s perfect for those cheeky end of week takeaways we all love to indulge in from time to time. And with it being vegan there’s the argument that it could be slightly healthier than other options, though don’t get me wrong I do love myself a fat cheeseburger!

It is worth noting that this place will sadly be leaving Manchester’s City Centre come the end of October. However they have said on their social media that they are currently on the hunt for a location in Stockport which they hope to open by January 2025. So be sure to be quick and visit while it’s still available!
