First things first, pop your toast in the toaster and get your frying pan up to a nice hight temperature. Add the spoon of butter in the pan and heat until it melts- be careful not to let it brown as it will discolour the eggs.

Whisk your eggs

This step is no yolk! Crack your eggs into a mixing bowl and whisk vigorously until bubbles form. Pour into your pre-heated pan and cook on a medium to low temperature.

Fold the eggs inwards

Let the eggs sit for 20 seconds. Then starting from the corners of the frying pan, slowly pull the egg mixture inwards toward the centre of the frying pan. Leave to sit for 10 seconds and then repeat again. Continue to do this until the eggs are cooked-this should create restaurant-style ribbons of eggs

Add any extras

At this point you can add any extras such as chilli or cheese to your eggs if you fancy. You should also season to taste with salt and pepper.

Don’t overcook!

No one likes a rubbery egg so be careful not to overcook. You’re aiming for the eggs to still be slightly runny. Remember that they will continue to cook a little in the pan. Once you are done cooking, push all of the eggs to one side until you are ready to assemble on your toast.

Enjoy!

Serve with any sides of your choice such as tomatoes, rocket, halloumi or bacon and enjoy your delicious scrambled eggs! You could also serve your eggs in an english muffin (pictured), on a crumpet or in a wrap- The opportunities are endless. If you’re still stuck, then check out Jamie Oliver’s tutorial here.
