Although the lockdown may feel as if it’s lasting forever it won’t, as one day the restrictions will be lifted, and life will go back to something we can call ‘normal’. We have asked 5 students what they are most looking forward to doing after the lockdown ends.

Bethan-Louise – University of Central Lancashire

Bethan-Louise Dixon

Bethan-Louise Dixon is in her first year of studying Events Management at The University of Central Lancashire. She said: “I’m mostly looking forward to being able to go out freely without thinking people are going to be judging me for getting some fresh air. I’m also looking forward to some kind of normality to resume in my life.” This is so true, and I think we are all looking forward to the day we can resume midnight trips to McDonald’s.

Benedict – Nottingham Trent University

Benedict Wills

Benedict Wills is in his third year of studying Law with Criminology at Nottingham Trent University. He said: “I’m most looking forward to a nice spoons pint to be honest, but I guess I’m seriously looking forward to the social side of it, there’s only so much online face to face socialising you can do!”. I think there’s going to be a lot of night outs after this lockdown is over, which will mainly consist of thousands of students meeting at their trusted Wetherspoons.

Evie – The University of Hull

Evie Cox is in her third year of studying English and American Literature and Culture at The University of Hull. She said: “I’m most looking forward to feeling productive again, seeing family and friends especially my grandparents, and using the new appreciative outlook I’m sure we have all found for future life.” Evie also said: “I can’t wait to do things that I took for granted before like having a gin in a beer garden in the sunshine and eating my favourite food in my favourite places.” I think we can all agree with that, I know I’m looking forward to being able to sit in a beer garden with my friends and a cold drink.

James – University of Huddersfield

James Kirk is in his second year of studying – at The University of Huddersfield. He said that after the lockdown he was most looking forward to “having a BBQ with everyone who means a lot to myself.” This sounds amazing, and I think lots of people will be wanting BBQ’s with their friends and family to not only celebrate being able to see each other but to also make the most of the unusually sunny British weather.

Jessica – Nottingham Trent University

Jessica Arnott is in her first year of studying – at Nottingham Trent University. She said: “I am most looking forward to going out for food again and going on nights out.” This is so relatable, and I know I miss going out with my friends a lot too, but I especially miss being able to go out for food. No cooking and no takeaway mess, just me and my friends at a classy establishment… Spoons!
