1. Gin and Tonic

Okay this is an easy one and one that needs little ingredients. It’s the perfect drink for summer and easy to make in mass.

Ingredients: London Dry Gin, Tonic Water, Lime Wedge

Recipe:

Gin (to your preference)
Tonic Water (to your preference)
Ice and lime wedge

2. Negroni

This easy cocktail recipe balances sweet, bitter and strong to create the perfect cocktail for any weather condition.

Ingredients: Campari, sweet vermouth, gin

Recipe:

1 oz London dry gin
1 oz sweet vermouth
1 oz Campari

Stir with ice for 20 seconds and then strain into a glass. You can garnish with orange peel but not vital.

3. Manhattan

Manhattan brings spiciness with the rye whiskey, whilst the fortified wine vermouth brings the sweetness. This is an easy whiskey based cocktail.

Ingredients: Bourbon or rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, bitters

Recipe:

2 oz rye whiskey
1 oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters

For the method stir the ingredients with cracked ice and then strain into a glass. Garnish with orange twist or brandied cherry, although neither is again entirely necessary

4. Daiquiri

Daiquiri is a firm favourite among students and again an easy cocktail recipe. It combines sweet, sour and strong to make the person summer cocktail.

Ingredients: White rum, fresh squeezed lime juice, sugar

Recipe:

2 oz white rum
1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
¾ oz simple syrup

Combine ingredient in a mixing glass with ice and shake well. Strain into a glass.

5. Cava Cocktail

This is a classic easy cocktail recipe, with enough flavour to impress and show complexity. This will bright up any pre-drinks or dinner party.

Ingredients (serves 2): half orange juiced, half lemon juiced, 50ml vodka, 1 tsp cinnamon syrup, 250ml cava, to top up, ice, Garnish with one small orange finely diced and ice

Recipe:

Pour the fruit juices, vodka, cinnamon syrup into a cocktail shaker and add a handful of ice. Shake well, then drain into two large glasses. Top up with cava and garnish with your sliced orange and ice.

6. Vietnamese mojito

This is an easy cocktail recipe, creating a Vietnamese twist to the classic mojito cocktail. Great for an Asian inspired dinner party or your Chinese takeaway.

Ingredients (serves 1): half lime (2 wedges and slice for garnish), 6 mint leaves, 2 perilla leaves, 40ml rum, 2 tsp sugar syrup, 25ml ginger and lemongrass cordial, soda water

Recipe:

Mix 2 lime wedges, 6 mint leaves and the perilla leaf. Add the rum, sugar syrup and ginger and lemongrass cordial. Fill a glass half full of ice, pour the mis in and stir. Add more ice and top with soda water, stir well. Garnish with lime slice, perilla leaf and mint (not needed).

7. Cape Codder

Another easy cocktail recipe and also cheap ingredients. It is just vodka and cranberry. Although it is simple, it is one of the best tasting drinks and perfect anytime. Fruity and refreshing.

This is a zingy refreshing cocktail. It consists of vodka, lemon juice and sugar. An easy cocktail recipe and also cheap to make.

Ingredients: 1 and half ounces vodka, 3/4 ounce lemon juice, half ounce simple syrup, half ounce limoncello, garnish with lemon twist

Recipe:

In a cocktail shaker fill with ice and combine the ingredients. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

9. Black Russian

This is a simple and satisfying cocktail, that’s easy to make. It combines vodka and coffee liqueur to create an irresistible drink.

Ingredients: 1 and a half ounces of vodka, 3/4 ounce of coffee liqueur. cherries to garnish

Recipe: 

Gather the ingredients into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with cherries.

10. Highball

The highball is simple, classic and popular among whisky lovers. The recipe is easy, consisting of whiskey and ginger ale. A great cocktail for any dinner party or fancy pre-drinks.

Ingredients: 2 ounces of whiskey, 6 ounces of ginger ale (or soda)

Recipe:

Fill a high glass with ice, pour the whiskey and top with ginger ale.
