Born on 17 January 1997, Jake Paul was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio in the USA. Even from a young age, Jake was not interested in studying, preferring entertainment and sports instead.
How did Jake Paul get famous?
Jake originally racked up over five million followers on Vine, the video-sharing app that was popular pre-Instagram and Snapchat. Once the application folded, he found success on YouTube instead. His popularity skyrocketed when he signed on with the Disney channel.
Controversially, Jake was fired from “Bizaardvark” during the filming of the second season. By that time, he was already the source of much attention. Most noticeably, he was known for throwing wild parties and having masses of young followers who gathered in the street outside of his rented house after he posted his address on social media. It was revealed that he was sacked from the Disney Channel show due to this antisocial behaviour.
However, it seems that the end of his time with Disney was just the start of his music career instead. After being fired from the show, he went on to form a music group called Team 10. Their most famous song was ‘It’s Everyday Bro’ and managed to go Platinum- that’s not bad for a side hustle. However, his music career was short-lived as he soon delved into boxing instead.

Jake’s boxing career began in 2018 when he won his first amateur fight against Deji Olatunji, the younger brother of YouTuber KSI. Following on from this, he went from amateur to professional and went on to fight against another boxer, AnEsonGib and then former NBA star Nate Robinson. The latter went viral after Paul brutally knocked Robinson out cold.
Following the huge success of this match, he participated in even more high profile matches against the likes of a retired martial artist, Ben Askren and former welterweight UFC champ Tyron Woodley. Once again, it was a successful match for Paul knocking out, the former UFC champion cold. Paul was supposed to be fighting Tommy Fury in the match but he had been forced to withdraw with a broken rib and chest infection.

In May 2022, Paul announced he would return to the ring for in August that year. He hadn’t fought since knocking out Tyron Woodley in 2021. There was much speculation about who he will fight in the match and the first in line could be Tommy Fury, the professional boxer and boyfriend of Love Island star, Molly Mae Hague. In fact, Paul had lost millions from Fury’s withdrawal last year and labelled the Brit as a “mediocre” boxer. As a result, Fury admitted to having mental health struggles and being in a dark place after withdrawing from his fight with Paul.
Fury said: Jake Paul, this should have been done a long time ago in December and if you want it I’m here and I’m ready for you.’
‘I’m going to end your career, you’re a bum and you’re no good,” he said.
