Most students choose to live in either university-managed accommodation or private accommodation during their time at university, or some students already live close enough to the university and can continue living at home and commute.

Leeds Arts University has a variety of student accommodation, but the majority of which is offered to first-year undergraduate students. Living in university-managed accommodation means you will get to live in shared flats with other creative students all whilst being on campus.

To find out more about the accommodation available you can contact the student welfare team at studentwelfare@leeds-art.ac.uk or call them on 01132028111.

Childcare

If a student is under the age of 20 and has a child to care for they may be eligible for Leeds Arts University ‘Care to Learn’ scheme. This is where students get up to £160 per week towards registered childcare costs, such as a child-minder or nursery.

To find out more about this scheme you should call 0800 121 8989.

Disability and Dyslexia

Leeds Arts University wants all of their students to succeed, so encourage students with disabilities to declare them to the university so they can offer them any additional help they may need. Students may receive one to one support tutorials, and the university also offers drop-in study skills sessions.

The university can also help students apply for the disabled student’s allowance, which helps students pay for any additional costs they may face because of their disability, such as specialist equipment.
