Marvel fans have been sitting and waiting for new movie content for a while now. It’s been 2 years since Endgame graced the cinemas, and all we’ve had since then is Spiderman Far From Home (which was great, but one movie in 2 years is not enough!).

However, Phase 4 has begun, and this weekend Marvel gave us some more information, teasers and feels. So here’s what we know about Marvel’s Phase 4 slate and what’s on it!

TV Shows

WandaVision

We’ve already had WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and the next series to start on Disney+ is Loki on June 11th. Wednesdays are the new Fridays, guys. After that, this summer we have the What If…? series coming to Disney+ too, and then later in the year we’ll finally get Hawkeye. After the Hawkeye series, we then have Ms Marvel which is due out at the end of this year.

Loki will see Tom Hiddleston embrace the role of the Trickster once again, this time dealing with the repercussions of breaking time, by the looks of the trailer. Oh, and alongside Owen Wilson. We reckon this will connect heavily to Spiderman and the next Doctor Strange Movie, but we will have to wait and see. Finally, we have Ms Marvel which stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel). The film will set up the 2022 movie, The Marvels, which will see Kamala, Captain Marvel, and Monica Rambeau working together.

Movies

After a long wait, we are going to finally be able to see Black Widow on July 7th 2021. This movie will be set before (Endgame spoilers ahead) Natasha’s death, between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Obviously, the movie will have Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, but it will also feature Florence Pugh, Davis Harbour and Rachel Weisz. Many people are confused about the purpose of this film, considering Natasha is canonically dead, and there have been suggestions that maybe it will set up Yelena (played by Pugh) taking over the Black Widow mantle, as we have seen with other heroes. We know for sure that Pugh will be in other MCU titles, including Hawkeye with Hailee Steinfeld.

Shang-Chi: And The Legend of the Ten Rings is the next movie on the slate, coming out after What If…?. The movie is due out September 3rd 2021, and will feature Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who has to confront the past after being drawn into a mysterious organisation. The film also stars Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh and Fala Chen.

Following up from Shan-Chi is Eternals, which is due out November 5th 2021. This movie is highly anticipated, following the A-list cast that was announced not too long ago. The film follows a race of immortal beings who have lived on Earth and shaped its history, and is set after Endgame. Directed by Oscar winner Chloe Zhao, the film stars Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Lauren Ridloff, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Barry Keoghan, Lia McHugh and Ma Dong-Seok. When Marvel dropped the See You At The Movies video this weekend, we got our very first glimpse at these characters in action.

In December (17th December 2021), we get the gift of a third MCU Spider-Man movie. The movie is titled Spider-Man No Way Home and there are a LOT of rumours about it. It is likely to be directly connected to Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, and by the looks of things, may also feature Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, the previous spidermen. This is just a rumour though, one which the actors are actively trying to put to bed. But as they say – one doth protest too much… All we know for sure is that this movie will see Tom Holland’s Spiderman fight the accusations left in the wake of Mysterio’s death.

Then we will get Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25th 2022. This will connect to both WandaVision and Loki, by the looks of things. Rumours have it that Elizabeth Olsen will be in the movie as Wanda, who may be the antagonist of the film. Whatever happens, we know it’ll be exciting and is the first MCU movie to feature ‘scary sequences’.

Only a few months after that, Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on May 6th 2022. This is the second Thor film to be directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi, and will feature the Guardians of The Galaxy as well as Thor. This means it will have Karen Gillan, Chris Pratt, Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, and Tessa Thompson in. It will also have Natalie Portman in as Jane, who may well become Thor, and Russell Crow as Zeus.

Then in the summer of 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released on July 8th 2022. This will not see a new Black Panther cast after the death of Chadwick Boseman, but will instead see the inner workings of Wakanda.

Later that year, The Marvels will be released on the 11th November 2022. Followed in 2023 by Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania on February 17th 2023, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 5th 2023.

The video released by Marvel also teased at the introduction of the Fantastic Four into Phase 4, but we have no confirmation of this.
