Ncuti Gatwa was born in Rwanda in October 1992 and is 29 years old (in May 2022.) He moved to Edinburgh with his family, escaping the Rwandan genocide. He was educated at Boroughmuir High School and Dunfermline High School in Fife before studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. There he received a BA in Acting.
