Accommodation

Bath Spa University has different types of university-managed accommodation, which range in price and location from studios apartments, ensuite rooms, or shared bathrooms, so it’s important to look explore your options. Childcare
To help support staff and students with childcare Bath Spa University have an on-campus nursery which looks after children between the ages of six months and five years. Oak Tree Nursery focus on active play, to keep the children active and engaged during the day whilst their parent/s are working or studying. For students at Bath Spa University, the nursery charges either £6 per hour or £50 per day (8am to 5pm, or 8:30 am to 5:30 pm). The nursery is split into two houses, Little Acorns for children under 2 years old, and Big Oaks for children over 2, the nursery also has three main outdoor play areas.

Disability and Dyslexia
At Bath Spa University, they want to make sure all students have an equal opportunity and encourage students to inform them of any disability, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, mental health illness, sensory or mobility impairment, or any other medical conditions.
If you feel you may have undiagnosed dyslexia the university also offers free access to a dyslexia screening. They also have a Writing and Learning Centre in the library to support students with their academic work. The university can also offer additional services, tuition, mentoring, equipment, etc. to help students that disclose a disability.

Fees and Finance
Starting university is an exciting time, but it can also be stressful and seem like your bank account is crumbling to pieces. Students need to pay tuition fees, accommodation fees, living costs, travel, supplies, etc. , and for most students, this would be the first time they have this much financial responsibility. To cover these costs most students apply for a student loan which will cover a students tuition fees and can also cover their accommodation and living costs.

Bath Spa University appreciate all feedback from their staff, students, and visitors whether it’s positive or negative. If students have a complaint they can make it to a variety of people, including their personal tutor/supervisor, student wellbeing services at studentwellbeing@bathspa.ac.uk , or the students unions advice centre at su-advice@bathspa.ac.uk .

Volunteering
Bath Spa University has dozens of volunteering opportunities, and if you don’t fancy joining one of their many existing projects you can create your own. Some of the current student-led projects include Coppa Feel, Go Give Experience, Primary Readers Scheme, RAG Fundraising, and Seasons. The university also has an annual volunteering week to encourage students to volunteer and celebrate civic support in their local community.
