Earlier this year, the reality star Stephen Bear was arrested and is soon due to appear in court. Here is everything we know so far about Bear and the allegations against him.
Who is Stephen Bear?
Stephen Bear is an English television personality that in the past has appeared on Shipwrecked, Ex on the Beach, The Challenge, and he has even won Celebrity Big Brother. Bear has also been a co-host of Just Tattoo of us with the beloved Charlotte Crosby. Bear has been on our screens since 2011 for all of his TV appearances, but recently he’s been on them for another reason.
What are the allegations?
Bear is facing allegations of ‘voyeurism, disclosing private, sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress and harassment without violence’.
This was after Love Islander Georgia Harrison, Bear’s ex-girlfriend, accused him in December 2020 of recording them being intimate on his home CCTV cameras without her knowledge and then releasing the sex tape online, which had also been shared on WhatsApp.
Who is Georgia Harrison?
Georgia Harrison is a reality star and influencer, who you probably recognise from The Only Way Is Essex back in 2014 and Love Island more recently in 2017. During her short time at the Love Island villa, Georgia was paired with Kem and then Sam. As we all know, Kem and Amber were the couple goals of that season, so Georgias matching definitely ruffled some feathers.
What was their relationship?
She and Bear started dating in 2018 after they hooked up during filming for The Challenge, an MTV show in America they were both working on. At the time, Bear was with Ellie O’Donnell, but dumped the model over facetime due to him being in the states.
During a 2019 trip to Thailand, it seemed Georgia and Bear were no longer together after she accused him of cheating on her.
What happened and what happens next?
Bear was arrested at Heathrow Airport earlier this year on January 15th 2021, after he was accused of recording him and his ex-girlfriend having sex without her knowing. He had just landed in the UK after spending several weeks in Dubai, and an eyewitness told the Daily Mail that he was ‘handcuffed’ after his arrival.
Bear has since been charged and will be appeared in Colchester Magistrates Court on July 2nd 2021.
