Despite all the fantastic student deals in Manchester, you can never have too many cheap meals. And thankfully Manchester is set up to accommodate students, with seemingly, hundreds of student eats.

Here we round up the best student eats in Manchester for under £10. That’s a main course and a drink with change from a tenner.

Not bad…

1. Pizza and a beer

Rudy's Neapolitan Pizza

Where: Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza, 9 Cotton Street, Ancoats, Manchester M4 5BF
How much: Margherita pizza (£5.95) plus a Birra Moretti (£3.50)

Get yourself down early to this fantastic za restaurant, as it’s known to get very busy. Despite being considered the best pizzeria in Manchester by many, Rudy’s is still very, very reasonably priced. You can get change for a tenner from a margherta pizza plus a Birra Moretti, can’t say fairer than that.

2. Healthy fish salad and fresh OJ

MyLahore

Where: MyLahore, 14-18 Wilmslow Rd, Manchester M14 5TQ
How much: Grilled fish salad (£5.95) and freshly squeezed orange juice (£3.25)

Feeling like all those happy hours in Manchester are hitting your health? Head over to MyLahore on Wilmslow Road for some fresh and health British Asian cuisine. You can get yourself a grilled fish salad for just £5.95 but if you want to push out the boat a bit more (and break our £10 rule) you a special mixed grill for £16.95.

3. A vegetarian breakfast treat with a coffee

The Pen And Pencil Manchester

Where: The Pen And Pencil, Fourways House, 57 Hilton Street, Manchester, M1 2EJ
How much: Mushroom toast (£7) and a latte (£2.70)

You can get a great 2 for 1 deals at The Pen And Pencil, but we also think it’s a great place to pick up a cheap breakfast. You can get a mushroom toast (roasted wild mushrooms and spinach, grilled soughdough, truffle mascarpone, poached eggs and toasted seeds) for a very student-friendly £7. If you fancy something a bit unhealthy you can get three American-style pancakes (with maple syrup it’s £7).

4. Cut price (but delicious) curries

This and that Manchester

Where: This And That, 3 Soap Street, Manchester, M4 1EW
How much: Rice and three veg dishes are £3.90

We set ourselves the target of a student eat for under £10, but the famous This And That offers meals for under a fiver! Yes it’s no frills but who really cares about that? It’s a fantastic place to take a friend and a real Manchester institution.

5. Brunch pies and a Bloody Mary

Pieminister

Where: Pieminister, 53 Church Street, Manchester M4 1PD
How much: The Wild Brunch (£5) — free range sausage, bacon and potato hash skillet with a poached egg, toast, roasted tomato and bacon — plus a bloody mary (£5)

You might already know the Pieminister name, but did you know they did brunch pies? That’s right, you can grab yourself The Wild Brunch (just take a look at the ingredients above) for just a fiver, leaving you with £5 to treat yourself to a bloody mary.
