30. Staffordshire University

The main campus lies in Stoke-on-Trent, which is also home to one of the UK’s best attraction parks – Alton Towers. Just in case you need to reeeally unwind one day! It also has its fair share of alumni, including most of the Editors band, Prodigy guitarist Jim Davies and Avdullah Hoti, PM of Kosovo.

Southampton is known for lots of things, including a bar so sticky it’s recommended that you buy shoes specifically for it (yes, we’re talking about Jesters), and a huge IKEA. But did you know you can enjoy all of that with lower grades? Well, now you do.

28. University of Westminster

The polytechnic university is situated right in the heart of London, making it convenient to get to if you live in the capital. This also makes it a great university for international students who also want to study beneath iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the London Eye.

27. Bournemouth University

Once again, fancy learning in the south? Bournemouth has the sand, the sea and the hustle-bustle of a city. The university is ranked quite high in satisfaction too, at 80%. You won’t have to sacrifice anything for the seaside.

The former capital of England, Winchester is in the south, near the South Downs National Park. It’s known for its incredible Cathedral, but there are other perks, like lovely pubs, gorgeous scenery, and 72% student satisfaction.

25. University of Bolton

The first on the list that isn’t down south, Bolton is a large town in Greater Manchester, and the university ranks in the UK’s top 5 for teaching. If you want the benefits of the north (by which we mean cheap pints, of course), then maybe Bolton’s for you.

Hertfordshire University is based in Hatfield, a town near Welwyn Garden City. Whilst the town is small, there’s plenty around it, like Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, London, and even Hertford. But you’d have to be fairly happy with living somewhere smaller to make the initial move.

Buckinghamshire is, well, kind of in the middle of nowhere. Between Reading, Slough and the Midlands, BNU is right near High Wycombe. If you’re looking to have a relatively calm student experience, then maybe try and relax in the countryside at Buckinghamshire New University.

Based across Suffolk and Norfolk, the University of Suffolk was founded as a collaboration of UEA and the University of Essex. There are buildings in Ipswich, as well as access to buildings in Great Yarmouth. So if you fancy being amongst 650 listed buildings, the gorgeous Orwell river and beautiful countryside, then maybe Suffolk is for you.

DMU has great ratings, a gorgeous modern campus, and is based in the multicultural, exciting city of Leicester. With degrees that have been sponsored by people like Channel 4, DMU has plenty going for it.

8. Canterbury Christ Church University

Canterbury may sound like it’s all altar boys and Catholics, but the market city actually has a lot more going on. Like, for example, Club Chemistry, with three floors of different music, different crowds, and themed nights.

Right next to Whipsnade (which has a great zoo), the University of Bedfordshire is based in Luton. Once again, there’s not a whole lot to do, but you’re within easy travelling distance from Dunstable, Stevenage and even London, at a push.
