100th. Fat Cat Cafe Bar – Leicester
To kick off our top 100 student bars / clubs in the UK is Fat Cat Cafe Bar in Leicester. If you’re a student in Leicester then you’ll have at least heard of Fat Cat Cafe bar. It recently closed to have a 300K refurbishment but now it’s open, bigger and better than ever. They serve 30 delicious cocktails and are open from 12pm every single day!
90th. 400 Rabbits – Nottingham
400 Rabbits in Nottingham prides themselves in being ‘Nottingham’s first and only dedicated Mezcaleria & Tequila den’. They are doing something right because they’ve made it on the list!
98th. The Empress – Newcastle
The Empress is considered one of Newcastle’s best hidden gems, with its cool street art decor and has been renowned for decades as the meeting, passing and finishing point for all Geordies nights out.
97th. Peppermint – Swansea
This place is considered to be a great student night out. Make your way to the top floor for a dance, amazing cocktails and great music.
96th. Filthy McNasty’s – Belfast
This place is a classic for students and makes it on our list at 96th. You’ll find a mix match of furniture and quirky decor. You can find live music daily from 10pm and try there Italian pizzas, it’s simply yummy.
95th. XOYO – London
I’m surprised that this place hasn’t come higher on the list but i guess 95th out of all the venues in the UK isn’t bad. XOYO is across two floors in Shoreditch. It’s popular for its live music and DJ sets.
94th. The Loft – Norwich
If you go to Norwich uni then you’ve no doubt come across this place or been dragged along to the Loft. This is one of the leading gay nightclubs in Norwich and they have recently added new seating to their VIP area. These novelty plane seating is a must for your next insta shot.
93rd. Why Not – Edinburgh
Edinburgh’s making its first appearance on the 50 best clubs / bars in the UK, with Why not. Get your fancy dress box topped up because Why Not is known for its ultra cool themed nights, which is probably why it is a firm favourite with students. Not to mention their large beer garden and stunning venue…. you probably won’t remember this after your night out though.
92nd. The Cut – Newcastle
Wednesday at the Cut brings one of the best hip hop nights to Newcastle. Saturday is a good night to go when everywhere else is relatively expensive. You can get in for £4 and buy drinks for £3/£2. Get stamped before 11 to get cheaper entry.
91st. Driftwood – Glasgow
This place comes in at 91 and I think this is largely down to it’s hearty Mexican food!
90th. Cavern Club – Liverpool
This renowned famous venue first opened in 1957 as a jazz club and later became the centre for Liverpools rock and roll scene. It was closely associated with Merseybeat music genre and The Beatles regularly played host in the early years, later forming their identity. Today The Cavern is the destination to go for live music from up and coming artists. It’s a firm favourite among students.
89th. Cosy Club – Bristol
Cosy Club is Bristol is a small wine bar by day and a dub/ reggae / RnB music playing by night. Bristol students have probably already discovered this place but if not this should be on the list.
88th. Rescue Rooms – Nottingham
Rescue Rooms is a firm favourite among Trent students and students tend to go from Stealth to Rescue Rooms. They play live music, sometimes from amazing recognised artists.
87th. Club Chemistry – Canterbury
If your a student from Canterbury then you’ve definitely already headed down to Club Chemistry. The club is split between three floors and holds some great student events.
86th. The Hockley Arts Club – Nottingham
Coming in at 86th for the best bars / clubs in the UK is The Hockley Arts Club in Nottingham. This place is a proper old gentlemen’s vibe, serving delicious food and drinks.
85th. Gosta Green Pub – Birmingham
This place is home to craft beers, cask ale, cocktails, live sports, delicious food and a giant beer garden… so everything you need for a good night.

Y Plas is probably one of the first places you go during freshers as a Cardiff Student. It’s one of the best nights out with cheap drinks and a great atmosphere.
