The best fireworks displays across the UK

Guy Fawkes night is coming soon, and so everyone’s rushing around trying to find the best fireworks near them. But if you’re really looking for some sick fireworks, check out one of the best fireworks displays across the UK.

1. Lewes, East Sussex

When: 5th November

This night is not suitable for the faint-hearted or young children. It takes place every year, and it commemorates the 17 protestant martyrs from the town. Health and safety do not apply, and there are fire, explosions and huge crowds. Watch the parades go through the town with burning crosses and enjoy the booze.

2. Alexandra Palace, London

When: 2nd and 3rd November

Anyone near the capital should definitely get a train over to Ally Pally for their firework display. The venue is expecting tens of thousands of people who will not only be able to enjoy the fireworks display but also a German Bier Festival, laser shows, ice skating and mulled wine. There will also be a funfair and stalls, plus an appearance from the Horrible Histories cast – all against the historic backdrop of the palace.

3. Rocket Firework Train, Denbighshire

In Wales, take a trip to see the Llangollen Railway line transform itself into a firework display. Whilst onboard a train, you travel from Llangollen to Glyndyfrdwy and watch an astonishing firework display whilst enjoying alcoholic or soft drinks.

4. Lambeth, London

When: 3rd November

Brockwell Park is hosting 2 separate firework displays, crafted expertly by finalists from the 2018 British Firework Championships. The event starts at 5 pm, and there is a Family Films display which will see fireworks alongside songs from the soundtracks of Moana, The Greatest Showman and Frozen. The main display, The Time Tunnel, will see music from the 90s to the present day and will be set against a backdrop of a funfair and over 30 food stalls.

5. Bute Park, Cardiff

When: 3rd November

Sparks in the Park returns to Cardiff for 2021. There will be a family area, a show just for kids and the main display at 7 pm. It is the largest firework display in Wales and the venue is expecting 20,000 people to turn up to watch the amazing pyrotechnics.

6. Skinningrove, Yorkshire

Skinningrove is on the North Yorkshire coast and is picturesque, and the locals build a huge structure each year that is based around the heritage of the local area. It then gets set alight and this year the structure will be a winter wonderland.

7. Bught Park, Inverness

When: 5th November

The celebrations over in Bught Park are alongside the River Ness and are expecting between 10 thousand and 15 thousand spectators this year, which would make it the biggest event in the Highlands. It starts at 5.30pm with fire-twirlers and a band, the bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm and then there will be a huge fireworks display.

8. Legoland, Windsor

When: 5th- 7th November

Over at the Legoland Windsor Resort, they are hosting a fantastic display for Bonfire Night. Expect to see fireworks that turn into exploding Lego Bricks! We won’t tell you how, but it sure is a sight to see.

9. Edenbridge, Kent

When: 5th November

In the Edenbridge Recreation Ground, there is going to be a fantastic event with local stalls, fairground rides, a DJ and huge effigies of Guy Fawkes and a nominated ‘Celebrity Guy’. Check it out this year for one of the best firework displays in the UK.

10. Alton Towers, Staffordshire

When: 5th – 7th November

Alton Towers hosts a huge firework bonanza each year, and this year is no different. The rides are open late and you can ride them in the dark for a terrifying and exciting experience.
