Being the second biggest city in Wales, Swansea has lots to offer. However, one thing that doesn’t get mentioned enough is the live music scene here. In fact, there are so many fantastic places to relax, dance, or sing along, and here are some of those places. These are the best live music venues for gigs in Swansea.

The Bunkhouse

One great place for gigs in Swansea is The Bunkhouse, which is in the middle of Swansea city centre. This place is well known for hosting live music of all kinds, and it’s perfect for a few drinks or a night out. All their gigs are up on their website, so it’s always worth having a look to see if there’s anything you would enjoy.

Swansea Bay Pop Up

Now the Swansea Bay Pop Up is only around for the summer, but there is live music there almost every day from local bands and artists. If you don’t know where to find gigs in Swansea, then this would be a great place to start. You can sit outside on a bench with a drink in your hand, and enjoy being out in the sun. It’s definitely a more relaxed place, which is what we all need during the summer.

Hangar 18

Likewise, Hangar 18 is another great venue for gigs in Swansea. If you’re looking for more of a concert vibe, then this is the place for you. It’s a great place to dance and be in a crowd, and the variety of events means there’s bound to be something you will like.

Brangwyn Hall

Brangwyn Hall is one of Swansea’s biggest halls. It hosts a variety of events throughout the year, and so it does host music events as well. Famous bands such as Manic Street Preachers and Bullet For My Valentine have performed there. So you may get lucky enough to listen to one of these big names if you ever look up the events that are going on there.

Sin City

Next up, Sin City is undoubtedly one of Swansea’s most famous nightclubs. However, gigs in Swansea are hosted there frequently. Bands will play there occasionally earlier on in the evenings, but this venue has also hosted some well-known DJs, such as the Sigma duo. If you love loud music with crowds, then this is definitely the place for you.

JC’s

JC’s is the student union bar, and it’s one of my favourite places to go. Every Tuesday is open mic night, making it perfect to listen to some live music, or even go up and sing yourself! There are loads of sofas and seats, so it’s great if you fancy sitting down and having a drink with some friends.

The Vault

The Vault is on Swansea’s most popular Wind Street, which is full of clubs, pubs, and restaurants. Whether you’re just starting the night off, or preferring a more relaxed evening, The Vault is a great place to listen to live music and have a sit-down. So, if you want to listen to some local bands and artists, then this is the place for you.

Swansea Arena

You may not know but Swansea Arena is Swansea’s newest venue, and it has already hosted bands such as Royal Blood. It’s a great place if you want to listen to some of the bigger names in music, and they already have lots of events lined up for the next few months, such as Kaiser Chiefs and Will Young.

Crowley’s Rock Bar

If you hadn’t guessed from the name, Crowley’s Rock Bar is for rock music fans. This is another small venue, so it’s a great atmosphere to get to meet new like-minded people and have a dance as well. But, there’s also a bar if you just fancy a drink whilst listening to some music as well.
