Let us all stand for a round of applause because our Prime Minister has finally kept to his word, and things are starting to reopen again! April 12th has never felt so sweet, and so upon its arrival, it now means that we can go shopping, drinks in our favourite beer gardens, and visit our favourite cafés (all socially distanced, safely, and outside of course). It has become apparent that as university students, being stuck within the same four walls for months on end, it most definitely has hindered our productivity, and so being able to take our work outside has come as such a huge blessing. With that being said, let’s take a look at the best London cafes opening in April to study at.

Coppa Club

Address: 3 Three Quays Walk, Lower Thames St, Tower, London EC3R 6AH

Opening up its doors and igloos once more is Coppa Club, unarguably one of the most beautiful places to exist (and I don’t just mean in London, although it definitely does get bonus points for being here). Now, we all know that staring at our laptops and research papers with only a drab wall as our background can get pretty… well… drab, but what about trying it surrounded by rustic plants on the Thames with Tower Bridge right in front of you? Not only does it look as incredible as it sounds, but Coppa Club also craft the best coffees and breakfasts so that you can relax and concentrate on what really matters (instead of being distracted by your flatmates winging about who used the last of their milk)!

Café Boheme

Address: 13 Old Compton St, Soho, London W1D 5JQ

Representing a very classic bistro-esc layout is Café Boheme, providing a laid-back atmosphere just as the name suggests. Located in Soho, it’s the perfect place to head on over to if you still want to be in and amongst the city life, but be able to also focus on your own work. Café Boheme serves an array of great French cuisines, so whatever the hour may be that you feel like studying at, there’ll always be some delicious treats to feast your eyes upon – because who else would study without a belly full of great food, right?

Caravan Exmouth Market

Address: 11-13 Exmouth Market, Farringdon, London EC1R 4QD

Do you ever get the feeling of transporting to an old, rustic café in Brooklyn, sipping on your coffee and becoming the next mysterious Dan Humphrey? Nope? Just me? Well, Caravan Exmouth Market in Farringdon is not only the perfect place to do that but a great place to also study, independent of which subject you’re taking (since I study English, I think it helps me to live out this Gossip Girl fantasy at least once). Serving breakfast, brunch and all-day fresh food, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, because not only is the quiet hum of customers relaxing, there’s always something going on in North London to eavesdrop on – just in case your work was getting that bit too tedious.

Farm Girl London

Address: 59A Portobello Rd, Notting Hill, London W11 3DB

Living the student life doesn’t always mean healthy meals. A lot of the time, substituting a good home-cooked dish for a takeaway because ‘we don’t have enough time and need to study’ can no longer be an excuse anymore; Farm Girl London in Notting Hill lets you have that clean, vibrant meal and the opportunity to study without actually having to put a lot of effort into it – the best of both worlds! Promoting health, wealth, and some seriously good drinks have never made studying so effortless.

The Good Egg London

Unit G9 Kingly Court, Kingly St, Carnaby, London W1B 5PW

Located just off Carnaby Street, The Good Egg London is a great hangout hotspot for those who study in the centre and fancy grabbing a meal with their friends whilst trying to convince themselves that they’re still in the mood study (okay, maybe that last one is just me and my friends) – nevertheless, it’s back open in April and the perfect place to check out. Serving dishes inspired by the Middle East, plus with the addition of a heated outdoor courtyard, I can definitely see this spectacular café heaving with students at all hours of the day.

Kaffeine London

Address: 66 Great Titchfield St, Fitzrovia, London W1W 7QJ

If you ask any coffee lovers dream café in Fitzrova, then Kaffeine London would definitely be a tough contender for the top spot. Inspired by the Australian and New Zealand love for coffee, this café transports you to much simpler times, when we could be nestled by the beach, waiting for the sun to rise and the tide to come in. Now, how’s that for a relaxing atmosphere, perhaps for even studying in? Again, it’s the perfect place for any central London university where you can still be amongst the hustle and bustle but also tucked away in your own little Pacific.

Saint Aymes

Address: 59 Connaught St, St George’s Fields, London W2 2BB

Credit: Silverspoon London

Known as one of the most beautiful cafés in London, Saint Aymes is a picturesque escape from reality and a much more Instagrammable backdrop for your study sessions. The pastel colours alone transport you to a field of serenity, and paired with a just as stunning menu; it’s a great place to head on over to (whether that be for actually studying or posting as though you are). Open for outdoor dining seven days a week and a happy hour in case the essays are really getting on your last nerve, Saint Aymes is living proof that you can have fun whilst still being focused on your goals.

Allpress Espresso Roastery and Café

Address: 55 Dalston Ln, Dalston, London E8 2NG

Credit: Tokyo Cheapo

Just as the name suggests, this café in Dalston roasts, brews and serves its own coffee, so you know you’re really being served the good stuff here. Not only does it serve great drinks, and it has just reopened with outdoor seating, this café is a great build for business meetings, freelancers, and students just like us to work in. The atmosphere of hardworking Londoners is definitely enough for us to concentrate on our own work, whilst possibly spying on others and trying to figure out their life stories!

Were any of your favourites on the list, because many of mine definitely were! Of course, you don’t have to necessarily study in these cafés (even though it kind of was the sole purpose of the list) – they are also the perfect place to check out for a catch up with friends, families and colleagues. With many more still to open in May, we’re positive this isn’t the last you’ve heard of the best cafés in London.
