The most important thing about bars is the atmosphere, not just the drinks, although most students’ bars have a great selection of drinks and some great prices to go with them. We were curious to find the best student bars in the UK and have found our top ten. Is your local bar on our list?

This modern bar is both sleek and stylish, with neon lighting, bold décor and a vast variety of classic and crafty drinks. It has an inviting atmosphere, with contrasting cold and warm colours. Students can come here any night of the week, except Sundays, and there’s a happy hour every night with different offers until 20:30, or 22:30 on Saturdays.

The Slug & Lettuce is an extremely instagramable cocktail bar, full of modern interior, pastel colours and flowers, so it’s perfect for any girl’s night out. They even do cocktail making classes so you can learn to make your favourite drinks. Plus they also offer 2-4-1 cocktails during their happy hours so that you can have a Pornstar Martini and a Classic Mojito for the price of one.

What makes this bar so unique is each floor has its own theme. The ground floor has a bar with 2-4-1 cocktails, a clubroom, as well as a 100-seater outdoor square and boardwalk. Their first floor has a festival theme, it’s full of well-known drinks brands, and even has a sun-trap balcony. Modo also has an underground floor, which is their nightclub space, where you can party until the sun comes up. The bar also has some amazing drinks, and you can even build your own gin balloon or order a giant porn star martini which could serve ten people.

Every happy hour cocktails are 2-4-1, which is great because there are so many on the menu to choose from, whether you fancy a Capri Cooler or a Floradora The Explorer. Be at One also have a rewards app, and when you order through the app, you earn points which can be redeemed for rewards.

Stone Roses

This bar is known for being one of the best Indie bars and is an iconic York venue that comes alive every night. The bar has lots of low and neon lighting with a very chill atmosphere. The décor also includes lots of band memorabilia on the walls, including from Oasis and Stone obviously the Stone Roses. The bar also has themed drinks and takes all its visitors back to the ’90s.

Warehouse

This bar has been running since the early ’70s and is still entertaining students of Lancashire. The Warehouse is open every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10:30 pm until 2:30 am. Each night this alternative nightclub has a different style of music for each floor, whether it be Indie, Rock & Emo, Pop Punk, or EDM. They also gave drinks from just £1, and a £2 entry if you go before 11 pm.

Turtle Bay

This is one of the best Caribbean restaurants and bars in the UK, and they have plenty of exciting cocktails to try, as well as a rum sharing board! Each bar also has its own happy hour, where all of their cocktails are 2-4-1, however, you must order two of the same drink at the same time for it to be valid. They also offer a Bottomless Brunch every day of the week from 10 am until 3 pm for £25pp, which means unlimited cocktails, mocktails and Bellini’s for 2 hours.

Popworld is not your average bar, it will take you back to the seventies. It has a very lively disco atmosphere and is extremely popular for hen nights and girls’ nights out. They play all the ultimate pop hits that are so iconic, they stand through the test of time. Popworld also has themed drinks, such as their pop partinis.

Rock City

This legendary music venue is the heart and soul of Nottingham and has been since 1980, with live music and club nights, such as Tuned Thursdays or Lucky Fridays. The venue may not look that big from the outside, but it can fit 2000 people inside across its three rooms, and 6 bars. Rock City also has 2-4-1 drinks all night, and you get a free drink with every advance ticket purchase.
