Open days are a great way to figure out whether or not the university campus and city work for you. You can love the course all you like, but the journey to and from the campus from your hometown, the vibes when you’re there and everything else you’ll experience on the open day will help you to determine whether or not it’s the place for you. So we’ve got a list of some of the best university open days in March and April 2022.

March 3rd – University of Suffolk

Based in Ipswich, the University of Suffolk is a modern university that was established in 2007. It is a smaller university, with only around 10,000 students in total. The university was only given official university status in 2016, and is already ranking 67th in The Guardian’s national rankings. There are 17 members of staff on average per 1 student, and 13% of their students are international!

March 9th – University of Cumbria, Lancaster Campus

This university is another modern campus, launched only a decade or so ago. The institution offers a range of courses, and boasts the highest number of outdoor study courses in the UK, in part due to its location in the Lake District. There are about 10,000 students enrolled at the university, meaning you can benefit from smaller study groups in campuses across Carlisle, Lancaster and Ambleside.

March 12th – Buckinghamshire New University

Buckinghamshire New University dates back to 1891, and has four campuses in the Buckinghamshire countryside across Aylesbury Vale, High Wycombe, Missenden Abbey and Uxbridge. The university offers a range of courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, from normal courses like English and Health and Social Care to Cyber Fraud Detection.

The university has been around since 1838 and took on its current name in 1992. The institution focuses on pioneering and internationalisation. There are over 22,000 students enrolled at the university from all over the globe. These students are split across four campuses – 3 in central London and one in northwest London.

Founded in 1966, Brunel University is located in Uxbridge, London. It is organised into 3 colleges based around Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Business, Arts and Social Sciences as well as Health and Life Sciences. The university is campus-based, meaning students are rarely more than 10 minutes away from halls and other facilities.

Founded originally in 1825, the University of Bolton originally began as the Bolton Mechanics’ Institute. It then developed and eventually was given university status in 2004. There is a huge range of 60 nationalities in the university’s faculty and student body, representing the diversity of the area in the country that it sits in.

Over in Middlesborough, this northeast university consists of five academic schools. There are specialist facilities on campus including a newsroom, broadcast studios and computing suites. Over 21,000 students are enrolled at the university, and it is rated 68th in the UK.

March 26th – University of Hertfordshire

April 2nd – Coventry University

In 1843, this university was the Coventry School of Design. The university now has 50,000 learners enrolled on courses in their institution, both in the UK and studying in different countries. The university is recognised across the globe for its expertise in health, agroecology and peacebuilding.

April 2nd – Bournemouth University

It offers more than 150 undergraduate degrees and over 100 master’s degrees! Founded in 2013, the University of South Wales is the result of merging both the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The university was at one point the 6th largest university in the UK, with over 33,000 students. The university’s campuses are split across Cardiff, Pontypridd and Newport, and are made up of four faculties.

April 5th – University of Cambridge, Emmanuel College

April 13th – Cambridge University, Pembroke College
