Moving to a new place can be daunting, nerve-wracking and fun all at the same time. Google Maps, Deep Research and many many trips are your best friend when it comes to getting to know an area better and helps to make that final decision as to whether you want to move. If you are planning on moving to Leeds, we’ve put everything you need to know about the city in one place. We love to make life that bit easier!
The Different Areas
Like any city in the UK, Leeds is separated into 33 wards (or areas), each unique and exciting in its own right. According to Manning Stainton, three of the top places for people to move to is Horsforth, Chapel Allerton and Bramhope. Before moving to Leeds, it would be a good idea to check each area out and see which area your heart settles on!
The Shopping Places
If you ask someone from Leeds about where to shop, there is a high chance that they will tell you to go to ‘Trinity Shopping Centre’, ‘White Rose Shopping Centre’ and simply even ‘Leeds City Centre (town)’. They are the most popular places to go to in Leeds and together they have over 500 shops! However, shopping doesn’t stop there. Places such as the Corn Exchange, every shop on Chapel Allerton Road and shops in Roundhay are also great places. So before you move to Leeds, make sure your bank account is full because you will definitely shop till you drop.
Yorkshire Tea all the way!
For a lot of us in the UK, we can’t go a day without drinking a hot drink. In fact, according to UK Tea Associates, 84% of the British population drink tea every day. One thing you have to know before moving to Leeds is that we are all about Yorkshire Tea. There’s no such thing as PG Tips, Ty-phoo and Tetley. Not in Leeds. Of course, I’m exaggerating; however, you will find that in most Coffee shops and Tea rooms, Yorkshire Tea is the most popular tea bag used. Over 76% of Leeds Coffee Shops use Yorkshire Tea. It’s a random but important thing you must know before moving to Leeds.
