We have all heard by now about Disney Star but what actually is it, and when does it come out? To help you out, here is everything you need to know about Disney Star and how it is different from Disney+.
What is Disney+?
Disney+ first launched in the UK during March 2020, with a subscription costing £5.99 after the one-week free trial. It gives you access to all the Disney movies and tv series, as well as those of Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic, and other family favourites like more than 600 episodes The Simpsons.
Why is it so popular?
The service has proved to be extremely popular due to its competitive prices, as well as the fact that Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior are no longer available. Disney also has several exclusive original series, movies and documentaries which you can only watch if you subscribe to the service.
What is Disney Star?
As of February 23rd 2021, Disney Star will be part of the Disney+ subscription. Meaning if you already have a Disney + subscription you will soon have access to thousands of new TV series and movies, including Greys Anatomy, 24, Scream Queens, Modern Family, Devious Maids, 9-1-1, and much more!
Although it is all under the same subscription, Star consists of more grown-up content, such as The Cleveland Show and Lost, whereas Disney Plus is more the kids and a few family favourites.
But the addition of all these popular new tv-series and movies to the service make the subscription much better value.
How much does it cost?
Disney is increasing their prices, so if you are a current subscriber, you will continue to pay £5.99 a month until August 2021. However, new subscribers will have to pay £7.99 a month unless they subscribe before the new service starts on February 23rd.
