It’s officially October, so you know what that means, it’s Halloween season! Pumpkin spice lattes, preparing Halloween party costumes and carving Jack-O’-Lanterns. It’s officially spooky season. There are plenty of events going on across Nottingham throughout the month of October to get you in the Halloween mood. Whether you’re looking for a club night, ghost walks or scary movie screenings, there is something going on for everyone. With that in mind, here are some of the best Halloween events in Nottingham in 2023.

So Fetch – 2000s Halloween Party

If you’re a 2000s baby like myself and want to go back in time, this may be the event for you. On the 27th of October, Tunnel Club will be hosting So Fetch, a Halloween party with all of your favourite hits from the first decade of this century. From Beyonce to Usher to McFly to Gwen Stefani, there is something for everyone. If you happen to be born within a week on either side of the event (October 20th to November 5th), then you can get free entry for the night! If not, tickets range from £6-£8.

Halloween After Party

On Halloween night itself, NG-One will be hosting the only After Party in the entire of Nottingham. That means that if you want to keep partying deep into the night (until 6am in fact!), NG-One has got you covered. With last entry at 5am, it can truly be a wild night. There were 200 free tickets on offer, but these (unsurprisingly) have sold out. But, that is not a problem. At the time of writing, tickets are £4 and this includes a free drink (a vodka plus mixer).

Ghost Investigation at Wollaton Hall

If you’re not a fan of club nights, there are still plenty of Halloween events in Nottingham for you. One such event is the Ghost Investigation at Wollaton Hall, just off of UON’s University Park campus. On the night of the 28th of October, head to the grand Wollaton Manor for a behind-the-scenes paranormal investigation like no other. Wander through the hidden rooms, vast cellars and endless corridors while experiencing some spooky paranormal activity. Tickets are £45 per person, so on the expensive side, but the experience makes it worth it.

Rock City Halloween All-Nighter

On the night of the 28th of October, Rock City is hosting its annual Halloween all-nighter, from 9pm until 6am. Expect to hear all the classic Halloween hits as you party a ghoulishly good night away. As of the time of writing, the tickets with the latest entry are all sold out – you can only get tickets with entry before 9:20, 9 and 8:40pm, all for £10 per person. So, if Rock City is where you want to be, you better buy your tickets quickly!

Condemned: A Halloween Special

If you’re a fan of true crime stories, this may be the one for you. The National Justice Museum is hosting Condemned: A Halloween Special. You’re taken on a tour of the Gaol below the museum to discover the disturbing true stories of the crimes that landed people there. There are five days of tours in total, the 21st, 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th of October, with two tours a day, at 6pm and 7pm. Tickets cost £15, which includes a free arrival drink (a glass of wine, a bottle of beer or a soft drink).

Nottingham Rumour – Halloween Special

On the night of the 26th of October, head to Popworld in the city centre for Rumour – Halloween Special, which promises to be one of the biggest student Halloween parties of the year. With immersive horrors, professional Halloween make up artists, immersive Purge visuals and a free trick-or-treat sweet tuck stall, it’s sure shaping up to be. As of the time of writing, the early bird tickets are still on sale for a mere £2. If you can’t book tickets yet, the final release tickets are a mere £7. Definitely prices that we students love to see.

Halloween Outdoor Cinema

On Friday the 27th of October, there will be an outdoor screening of the film Hocus Pocus at the Nottingham Racecourse. While Colwick Park is a little out of the way from the city centre, it’s the perfect venue for an outdoor cinema like this. There are two screenings, one from 5pm to 8pm and one from 8:30pm to 11pm. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a fun night out with friends that’s less intense than a club night.

Detonate Halloween: In the Arena

On the 28th of October, we will see the return of Nottingham’s biggest Halloween rave. Among the artists announced already, you will hear Hybrid Minds, Bou, Sub Focus, Dimension, A Little Sound and more as you party the night away in Motorpoint Arena, the city’s biggest venue. All of the presale tickets have sold out, but currently, the general release tickets are on sale for £31.75 (plus a booking fee).
