Work Experience Opportunity in events planning with Merlin’s Magic Wand

The company:

Merlin’s Magic Wand is a children’s charity that supports children facing challenges of serious illness, disability or adversity around the world.

The Charity reaches these children with three magic spells: “Magical Days Out” – providing free tickets and funding a contribution towards travel for families to enjoy their day at a Merlin Entertainments’ attraction, such as LEGOLAND Resort® theme parks, SEA LIFE Centres, and Madame Tussauds.

“Merlin’s Magic On Tour” is spell number two, working with local communities at hospitals and hospices to bring the magic to the children wherever they are and the third spell is “Merlin’s Magic Spaces” – designing and creating amazing projects in hospitals, orphanages, learning centres and more all around the world.

The opportunity:

Merlin’s Magic Wand are now opening their doors to welcome a student to join the team on work experience. They are looking for someone with an interest in events management and marketing to hit the ground running. The individual must be willing to learn and get stuck in.

You’ll get the chance to work closely with the team to organise a Charity Gala Dinner event and you’ll even be able to volunteer at the event to see all your hard work come to life.

The Role:

You will need to be able to dedicate at least 7 hours a week to help with marketing material, design and events planning / organising. You’ll be able to work from home or remotely. The main requirement is to help organise the Gala Dinner Event which takes place on the 23rd April 2020 at Madame Tussauds London.

The person:

-An interest in events planning and marketing. Preferably studying events planning or marketing as a degree

-IT skills; fully proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

-A fantastic eye for detail and good administrative skills

-Strong organisation skills and a flare for creativity

-A willingness to learn and get stuck in
