Are you a newfound vegan and your enthusiasm is starting to wane? Well did you know, there are plenty of celebrities who are vegan that you can look to for inspiration. From chart-topping singers to former presidents, here are just some celebrities who you may not know eat a plant-based diet.
Billie Eilish
Did you know that Eilish was raised vegetarian before going vegan? The American singer-songwriter uses her platform amongst young people to advocate for veganism on Tumblr and Instagram, saying, “Leave animals alone. Damn.”
Rainn Wilson
Wilson is the opposite of his meat-loving character on the Office, Dwight Schrute. After saving two rescue pigs he made the connection between meat and his beloved pets so decided to give up meat for good. He dubs himself the ‘Fifty-year-old vegan’ and shares his experiences on Instagram.
Ellen Pompeo
Grey’s Anatomy star, Ellen Pompeo told People magazine that she and her family had gone fully vegan, back in 2018. The decision came following a visit to her doctor, in which he recommended a plant-based diet as a way to prevent breast cancer and improve her general health. Pompeo said: “I don’t think it’s tricky at all It’s actually easier- because meat you have to cook before it goes bad.’
Lewis Hamilton
British racing driver champion, Lewis Hamilton, went vegan in 2017 after he watched the Netflix documentary, What the Health- didn’t we all? Animal rights are the main reason behind Hamilton’s conversion to a plant-based diet but he says that he’s felt ‘the best I’ve ever felt since being a vegan.
Natalie Portman
The star launched a vegan shoe line in 2008 which has since gone bust but has always been an outspoken supporter of the vegan community for years. Although she slightly broke her veganism whilst pregnant her kids are not vegan.
Benedict Cumberbatch
Named PETA’s Most Beautiful Vegan in 2018, Cumberbatch revealed his plant-based diet kept him in shape for Dr Strange. It goes to show that meat doesn’t necessarily equal muscle.
Alicia Silverstone
Fans of the classic teen movie Clueless will be well aware of Alicia Silverstone. However, what you may not know is that she also follows a vegan lifestyle. In fact, Silverstone has been vegan since she was 21 and is a passionate environmentalist and animal rights activist. What’s more, she’s written her own vegan cookbook and has launched her own brand of vitamins- Mykind Organics.

Australian singer, Sia has been vegan for years and is a prominent vegan activist. She has appeared in several PETA campaigns and has participated in the animal welfare documentary, Dominion.
