This beautiful structure is an amazing architectural achievement, which now lies in enticing ruins for you to do your best Lara Croft impression in. It was founded more than 800 years ago, so you can get your ancient kicks by wandering around its expansive site.

If you want a lovely, quaint day out, then look no further than the cosy tearooms and scenic lakeside walks available at Golden Acre park. Six miles from the city centre, it’s a perfect breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of Leeds proper.
Thackray Medical Museum

One of the largest medical museums in the world might not sound like the most interesting place to be, but Thackray Medical Museum is infinitely more interactive and fascinating than you’d expect. The Victorian sections of the exhibition will show you how grisly medicine really was back then, before the other exhibits take you through time and show you how the processes which save our lives have evolved over the years.
Trinity Leeds

It might seem odd to have a shopping centre crop up in a ‘top attractions’ list for a city, but Trinity Leeds really is quite something to behold.
