If you’re looking to teach post-16, or train privately, or maybe teach in the workplace – then you may well need a Level 3 Award in Education and Training qualification, previously known as PTLLS. Here are a few of the hundreds of places which offer the course.

1. Train-Aid

Train-Aid’s course is £450 including VAT, and it’ll cover taught lectures, lesson planning, group discussions and essay planning across the 3 fundamental units (which all Level 3 Education and Training courses must cover). These cover roles and responsibilities, planning, and the importance of assessment.

The first 2 days of this course will be spent planning your own 15-minute micro lesson to then perform on day 3.

After all the classroom learning, you’ll be given 1 month to complete 3 essays.

This course has the potential for you to progress to a Level 4 certificate or Level 5 Diploma.

2. CTC

CTC’s course is £45 per month for 5 months, or £225. You must be at least 19 years old and have a good standard of written and spoken English, as the course is done online.

The platform is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You’re expected to complete approximately 120 hours of learning on the course.

3. UK Training

This course is 48 – 61 hours over 4 separate days and will cost you £475 plus VAT.

It’s based in Northampton and covers all 3 units, as well as a focus on inclusive teaching.

This course is assessed by microteaching and a workbook.

4. The Teacher Trainer

For this course, you must be able to provide a photo ID. As with the other courses, it covers the 3 fundamental units.

This course provides you with 48 hours worth of learning and will cost you £225 plus VAT (£270).

5. Oxbridge

This course is taught across 6 months, with less than 40 minutes a day. However, you do have up to a year to finish the course. It will cost you £495 or £37 per month.

Oxbridge’s course is the most varied, with presentations, essays, and tutor-marked assignments being used throughout the span of the course to help you achieve the best outcome possible.

There are plenty of Level 3 Education and Training courses available, both online and in person. But it depends on your availability and budget on which one may work best for you!
