Whether we have seen her television show appearances or not, it is quite possible we have all heard the name Megan McKenna. The reality star from Essex was always bound to be on television it seems as her first appearance was on Britain’s Got Talent as a contestant in a girl singing duo that reached the semi-finals in 2009. The star is now reportedly worth more than £315,000 and counting. But from that first audition on BGT to today, how exactly did Megan McKenna make her net worth?

After reaching the semi-finals of the third series of BGT, it seemed that Megan wanted to make a name for herself in music. However, it has now been revealed that she has also tried her hand at acting! That same year Megan appeared in the E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners as an extra. It was quite recently that Megan uploaded a pic to Instagram circling a student standing next to Simon Bird who plays Will McKenzie. She captioned it “That’s me!”
From here Megan made a single episode appearance on the reality show The Only Way Is Essex, as part of a girl group LOLA and they performed on T4 stars of 2010. Little did she know that she would return to TOWIE later in her career. But before that came Ex On The Beach.
This is where Megan truly began to get fully noticed in the public eye, as a contestant on the third series of dating show that introduces people wanting to find love to a group of people whilst simultaneously adding exes of each of the contestants into the mix. Megan’s demeanour on screen was seen to be confrontational and mouthy. But it remains one of the most popular series of the show to date.
Megan returned to Ex On The Beach with boyfriend Jordan Davies that she met first time around. Her behaviour, pretty much the same, fans also loved her second stint and never give up hope that she may make yet another.
Her career in reality television did not stop her as she went on to be a housemate in the seventeenth series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, where she became the fourth evictee from the house, lasting 18 days, and pushing herself even further into the public eye.
A few months later and Megan returned to TOWIE as a series regular, but left in 2017 after deciding to focus on her career in music.
A changed Megan?
Megan starred in There’s Something about Megan, her own reality series that documented Megan’s musical journey into country music when she travels to Nashville. The series of three episodes aired on ITVBe in 2017.
“High Heeled Shoes” and “Far Cry from Love” were two songs released on Megan’s debut EP. This apparently beat Taylor Swift and Pink to the top of the UK iTunes chart. The star made the announcement on her Twitter account.
To promote “High Heeled Shoes” Megan had four dates at different venues as part of her first headlining tour in December 2017 and she supported Michael Bublé at the British Summer Time show at Hyde Park the following year.
Megan released her autobiography entitled “Mouthy” that topped the Best Seller list of the Sunday Times in July 2018, and began working on he clothing and makeup ranges, “Studio Mouthy” and “Mouthy Cosmetics”
Megan returned to television soon after appearing on Channel 5’s 5Star series Celebs on the Farm, alongside fellow TOWIE cast mate Bobby Norris, celebrity dancer and choreographer Louie Spence, and Gogglebox’s Sandi Bogle.
In December of 2018 Megan made a comeback to music, releasing her debut studio album “Story of Me” From May to September of the following year Megan was on tour all over the UK, and upon her return was on the E4 series Celebs Go Dating. The series included two Love Island Stars, an Ibiza Weekender rep, a former Made in Chelsea cast member, a Hollyoaks actress, Atomic Kitten Member Kerry Katona, and Megan’s former boyfriend Pete Wickes!
Most recently, you would have seen Megan McKenna on XFactor: Celebrity as a contestant where she sang “Everything But You” a song from her existing album for her first audition. On the show she explained she was trying to change her image, removing all of her lip fillers and having a more natural look.
Megan went on to become the first ever XFactor: Celebrity winner under the mentorship of Louis Walsh, achieving almost half of the overall public vote in the final. She won a record deal with Syco.
In February of 2020 Megan announced she had started recording her second studio album and later it was revealed that she has been asked to be a supporting act on the UK leg of a tour by Lionel Richie. It appears that the Hello! Summer Tour has been postponed until 2021.
Megan also announced recently on social media that she will be performing at the Isle Of Wight festival next year.

Megan’s Personal life
It is typical in the life of a television personality for personal relationships to be in the public eye. Megan began a relationship with fellow Ex On The Beach and Magaluf/Ibiza Weekender star Jordan Davies . The pair first met on the third series, but by their second appearance in series four the pair were a power couple albeit self-proclaimed. The couple got engaged on the show, but by the final episode it was revealed via narration that Jegan (their couple name) were no longer a couple. Megan announced the split via twitter in December of 2015.
In 2016, Megan dated TOWIE star Pete Wicks, but the pair ended things in 2017, hence the awareness on Celebs Go Dating when the pair appeared on the same series looking for different relationships.
Megan also publicity dated former Love Island contestant Mike Thalassitis for seven months until the summer of 2018. The star and former football player sadly took his own life in March of 2019. Megan took to instagram to give her condolences to Mike’s family and revealed in a Loose Women interview later in the year that her song writing had been a form of therapy for her.
