Can you feel it? Love Island fever is in the air as season 8 as the popular reality dating show’s start date is drawing closer. After a rollercoaster of a season last year, we can hardly contain our excitement for this year- especially when there’s a new Love Island villa and a fantastic lineup rumoured already! Although very little about the show has been officially announced yet, there’s been a lot of speculation about who the Love Island 2022 cast will be! Intrigued? Read on to find out who is tipped to be this year’s contestants.
Gemma Owen
The 19-year-old daughter of football legend Michael Owen is rumoured to be a contestant for Love island 2022. This stunner is already doing well for herself as an international horse rider for Great Britain. Plus, she’s the owner of a swimwear brand (for which Love Island would offer the ideal opportunity to promote.) However, in an interview with the Daily Mail, she shot down claims, saying ‘I watch Love Island every summer but right now it’s not something I would consider doing because I am not looking for love at the moment.’ So, we guess that we’ll just have to wait and see on this one…
Joshua Legrove
Following the success of Tommy Fury, it has been reported that the production team are keeping an eye on boxer and model, Joshua Legrove. During his career, he has travelled the world working with different brands and growing his Instagram following to 16.2 k followers. A source told The Sun, “Joshua is really handsome but there is much more to him than that – the girls will go wild for him.”
Brad McDermott
Another rumour is that Brad McDermott, younger brother of Love in the Flesh host and ex Made In Chelsea star, Zara Mcdermott. Brad is an artist who uploads his music singles on to Sound Cloud. At present, he has 17.1 K followers on Instagram. In terms of his rumours about him being in Love Island 2022, a source told The Sun that “Brad is a young, good looking guy, and he has seen how appearing on Love Island has completely transformed Zara’s life,”
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu
Also rumoured for the Love Island 2022 cast is Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. The Turkish actor and influencer splits her time between London and Istanbul. She has 340 K Instagram followers including popular celebs like TOWIE’s Pete Wicks and James Lock!
Sophie Draper
Likewise, another girl rumoured for the show is Nottingham beautician, Sophie Draper. It seems that the 22-year-old is quite the entrepreneur and runs her own beauticians in West Bridgeford called Sophie Draper Beauty. Draper is newly single, having dated Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash for four years before splitting last year. It is thought that her newly single status and 20.5 k Instagram followers would make her the perfect fit for the show.
Jordan Spencer
Lastly, there’s another basketball star rumoured to be in the next season of Love Island and that’s Jordan Spencer. The 27-year-old plays for London’s Lions basketball team and has reportedly been in talks with the producers of the dating show.
