Early Life
Mallet was born in Islington in London but moved to Essex when he was 15 years old. Not many people know this, but his real name is Tommy Fordham. In an interview, Tommy mentioned that he wasn’t an academic and took up Architecture in college but struggled due to his dyslexia. He has since encouraged children that it doesn’t matter if they struggle, they can still achieve a lot.
TOWIE
It appears that Tommy has grown up living in the TV spotlight. His parents tied the knot and were a featured romantic couple on BBC’s 1999 series of Love Town. Fast forward 15 years, Tommy followed in their footsteps and joined the cast of TOWIE in 2014 (series 13) and was the only new character to join in that season. He was described as a wild party animal, and James ‘Arg’ Argent even describes him as – “The first person on the dance floor and the last person to leave”.
Relationships
During TOWIE, Tommy swooned fans with his relationship with the beautiful blonde Georgia Kousoulou. Georgia admitted that at first glance, she wasn’t that keen on Mallet due to his loud and wild party stance. 7 years later, they’re strong as ever in a healthy relationship with their adorable Pomeranian pooch, Monkey. In December 2020, the happy couple announced that they were expecting their first-ever child and shared a sweet family selfie.

Growing up, Mallet was not able to afford the newest (and expensive) pairs of trainers and was often bullied for this. He quite literally put pen to paper and sketched his ideas. He and a close friend Evren collaborated with Tommy’s designs and were blown away by the reaction of his customers who had purchased the trainers. Today, Tommy Mallet owns his own successful business – Mallet Footwear. It was officially established in 2015 and within 24 months had a turnover of £2.5 million, expanding globally.
It has attracted the attention of many celebrities such as Olly Murs and Drake and has collaborated with eye-wear brand Belvoir&Co to launch his very own collection of sunglasses. His footwear can be found in stores such as Selfridges and Harrods in the UK in areas such as Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester.
