Something about the seaside, the great bars, restaurants, and the general happy vibes in Brighton makes people couple up quite quickly. But once you’ve got to that stage – what is there to do in the city? Well, there are actually loads of things to do in Brighton for couples, and we’ve got the rundown.
1. Brighton Palace Pier
Would it even be a list of things to do in Brighton without the pier? There is so much to do on the pier that you could quite easily make it last a whole day if you wanted to! There are two lots of amusements with fantastic arcade games, prizes and 4-player air hockey, and there are the restaurants and bars to break the day up. You’ve just got to have an ice cream or crepe on the pier. It’s like, the law. And if that all isn’t enough, don’t forget the rides at the end of the pier! Log flume, haunted house, the Palace Pier has the whole lot.
2. GLOBALLS
Do you love crazy-golf? Of course, you do. Well, this crazy-golf course based in Brighton Marina has something special up its sleeve; it’s a glow in the dark. Yes, you read that right! GLOBALLS has three exciting mini-golf courses in dark rooms with luminescent UV colours, incredible statues, and brilliant challenges. Plus, when you’re done with the golf, there are carnival games and a brilliant cocktail bar. It’s relatively cheap, and on a nice day you can walk along the seafront to the marina to get there!
3. The Naturist Beach
Now, this isn’t one for the faint-hearted, but if you and your lover like a challenge and have the confidence, you could always take a trip to the naturist beach between Brighton pier and the Marina. It is relatively easy to find, and you’ll definitely know when you’re there! Just be careful that if you go for a swim, the waves don’t carry you up the beach… Not sure that’d go down too well!
4. The Gin Tub
The Gin Tub is a critically acclaimed gin and cocktail bar in Brighton that is completely and utterly Instagram-worthy. With neon lights, an insane amount of flowers, and cocktails literally served in mini bathtubs, you’ll never forget a date night here. Order your drink to the table by an old rotary phone, and await whatever beautiful cocktail you’ve ordered!
5. The Duke of York
The Duke of York’s is based just off of London Road in Brighton, in an area called Preston Circus. It is an old cinema with a bar and snacks and often hosts independent movies that aren’t available to watch elsewhere in the city. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and its location just off of London Road means that it is in the prime location for students, as well as for a meal or some drinks after your movie.
6. Flea Markets
There are several flea markets in Brighton that are not only good places for shopaholics, but they’re also perfect places to go for anyone who’s a fan of antiques, oddities, or Instagrammable memorabilia. The 3 best flea markets in the city for you to visit are the Brighton Flea Market in Kemptown, the North Laine Bazaar, and Snooper’s Paradise. But be warned, you may find yourselves all out of money and with armfuls of stuff you’re not sure you ever really needed…
7. Photomatic
What’s better for couples than a great photo booth experience? We’d argue that there isn’t anything. This photo booth experience is based right in the heart of Brighton’s North Laines and has multiple photobooths of different styles, props, and a generally good vibe. You purchase tokens from the desk and then use your tokens to get as many photos of you and your partner as you can afford. Plus, once you’re done taking great photos, you’re in the prime location for some shopping, eating, or drinking!
8. Devil’s Dyke
Do you and your partner enjoy long walks, picnics, or just soaking up the countryside? Well then, you’re in luck. Just at the top of Brighton and Hove, there is a large national park with great scenery, incredible views, and loads of walking trails for you to enjoy. Take a trip up to Devil’s Dyke by jumping on a bus, and spend your day wandering around the great outdoors before stopping off for a brilliant meal at the Devil’s Dyke Pub and Restaurant.
9. Hollywood Bowl
It might be a bit cliche, but bowling really does make for a great date. It is definitely up there on the list of fun things to do as a couple in Brighton. The bowling alley in Brighton is down in the Marina, meaning that it is a lovely seaside walk away from the town centre, too. Take a wander down to the alley and enjoy a game of bowling alongside a huge sharing cocktail, some great American diner food, and incredibly fun and competitive arcade games!
10. Komedia
A comedy club, venue space, and a cinema all in one. Komedia is the ideal date night. There is always something on, whether that’s a huge comedy spectacular, a Taylor Swift-themed club night, or an A24 movie screening. Not only do we offer entertainment for everyone, we also have delicious food on the menu! Just take a look online and book yourselves in!
