As Brits, one of our favourite things is a good Sunday roast, but finding a good one can sometimes be a bit more difficult than it should be. In order to help you avoid the bad ones, we’ve got a list of Southampton’s best Sunday lunches!
7. Dancing Man Brewery

Dancing Man Brewery exclusively serve their ‘Sunday School’ menu on Sundays, which features three options: Roast Meats of The Day, Vegan Roast, and the Chiddlers Roast (ages 12 and under).
6. The Cowherds

The Cowherds is the place to go if not all of you want a roast (blasphemy, we know), as they have options like steak and burgers, too. If you are opting for the roast (which we hope you will), choose from the slow-cooked pork belly, hand-carved turkey, marinated lamb, sirloin of beef, trio of roasts or the candied veg roast. All of which are serves with roasties, Yorkshire pudding, thyme roasted carrots, broccoli, parsnips and roast veg topped in as much gravy as you want. Add on cauliflower cheese, stuffing and extra Yorkies for an additional cost.
5. Ceno

At Ceno they combine great food and drink with a warm atmosphere and great decor, but more importantly – their roast dinners are divine! Choose from beef, pork, chicken or vegetarian options every Sunday between 12 pm and 8 pm, and finish it off with one of their truly British desserts like Eton Mess.
4. Bacaro

Choose from 5 roast dinner options: roast beef, rosemary and garlic leg of lamb, roast chicken, or a mixed roast. All of the options come with a large sharing board of seasonal veg, parsnips, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and gravy.
3. Duke of Wellington

Google and Trip Advisor customers have reviewed the Duke’s roasts as ‘truly exceptional;’ and you can enjoy their wide range of real ales alongside roast pork, chicken or beef with all the trimmings. The roasts cost £11.95, and you might want to book in advance!
2. The Cricketers Arms

The Cricketers is a lovely pub restaurant that makes you feel at home instantly. Their Sunday menu is served alongside their usual menu and includes roast beef, lamb shank, a nut roast and a vegetable wellington. You can add pigs in blankets and fries to your roast for an extra cost, or just have a beef brioche bap if you’re not feeling the big Sunday lunch.
1. Jolly Sailor

The Jolly Sailor is another great place to go if not all of your group want a big roast dinner. They’ve got an extensive Sunday menu, so whether you want roast beef, a nut roast, roasted hake, a burger or pie, they’ll be able to satisfy your cravings. Plus, they’ve got great desserts like vanilla and white chocolate cheesecake. Sign us up, please!
