Here are some of the best student halls for freshers at De Montfort University or the University of Leicester.

Liberty Park

Just 20 minutes away from the University of Leicester and 15 minutes from DMU, Liberty Park suits everyone’s needs. It is home to 690 students and has shared flats and studios, giving students the chance to choose between ensuite rooms with a shared kitchen and living area or an independent studio. There’s even an option to share one of the premium range rooms with just one other student, whilst still having your own bathroom. On-site, there is a large common room, a gym and a supermarket. Nearby, you can go and stock up at Morrisons, or watch a movie at ODEON, or maybe get your fill with a cheeky Nandos. Prices start at £122 per week.

The Glassworks 

Less than a minute away from DMU, and not much farther from the University of Leicester, The Glassworks is in a good location for anyone worrying about being late for lectures. On-site facilities include a study room, common room, cinema room, vending machine and the basics such as laundry facilities. When it comes to individual rooms, students can choose from a range of studios or ensuite rooms or even a two-bed flat. Prices start at £150 per week.

New Wharf Hall

Fancy somewhere right near a large supermarket and a leisure centre? New Wharf Hall is exactly that. It has recently been refurbished, and its now modern-looking flats house 4, 7 or 10 students with a shared bathroom and kitchen. These are regularly cleaned by staff, and there are laundry facilities on-site. Prices start at £110 per week.

Waterway Gardens 

Waterways consists of 6 bedroom houses with a shared bathroom and laundry facilities. There are TV points in all the bedrooms and lounge areas allowing you to set everything up and make yourself at home. The accommodation is on the edge of campus and close to a range of local shops, cafes, takeaways and restaurants. Prices start at £110 per week.

University of Leicester

Ashcroft House 

Ashcroft has 14 recently renovated rooms in the centre of The Village, meaning that all of the SU amenities are right on your doorstep. This includes The Village Hub and the sports centre.  Also nearby are the botanic gardens and a 24 hour ASDA. Each room includes a 3/4 bed, a wardrobe and all the necessary furniture. Prices start at £119 per week.

Knighton Court 

These newly-refurbished ensuite rooms are only a short walk away from The Village hub, which offers a variety of social study spaces and places to relax. In The Village there is a cash machine, a common room, music rooms, allotment, bike storage and parking, and you’re close to the botanic gardens and a 24-hour ASDA. Prices start at £142 per week.
