1. Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park

Take a stroll and take in all of the wildlife at Birmingham’s Wildlife Conservation Park. View the park’s large variation of monkeys. Explore animals you possibly have not seen before in the form of red pandas, lemurs and wallabies, as well as some you know and recognise like cute little meerkats and otters, and a selection of birds and reptiles. Just make sure you have valid ID on the day and you are good to go. This could be a NUS or TOTUM Card, or simply your dated university ID card. With this you can get a student discount making the prices of tickets £13.65. You will definitely make your date happy with this one as you get to sample Cadbury chocolate on the experience and sometimes try the new produce before it hits the shops.

6. Sarehole Mill and Moseley Bog

These attractions are just part of what is known as the J.R.R Tolkien trail. Whilst not technically a trail as described with parts of the famous author’s inspiration all over the city, Sarehole Mill and Mosley Bog are definitely the two places on the “Trail” that are close enough together to enjoy a walk through nature and soak up a bit of history that the man behind “The Lord of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” put into his great fantasy tales whilst he lived and wrote right where you will visit. 7. Library of Birmingham

Yes, it is a bookworm’s personal heaven but the Library of Birmingham is home to more than just books. They also host poetry readings and crafting sessions. But perhaps the best part is the Secret Garden on the top floor, sit amongst the flowers in the open space, take snaps of the memories and take some quiet time to just enjoy the view.

The Custard Factory also houses the Yumm Café and many galleries, you could really spend all day in here.

9. Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary
