We ranked 124 UK universities using social life score as the primary driver — the best available measure of how active student life is — weighted alongside satisfaction, safety and affordability. Data sources are cited in the methodology below.

What goes into the score
Every metric is normalised to 0-100 before weighting. No data is hidden.
External validation: the Whatuni Student Choice Awards Students' Union category (35,000+ verified student reviews) ranks Sheffield, Cardiff and Lincoln among the top SUs in the UK — consistent with their strong performances in this ranking. We will incorporate WUSCA SU scores directly once full data is available for all institutions.
