Unifresher Student Experience Survey 2026
These are the study details to keep with coverage.
- Sample
- 500 UK student respondents.
- Questionnaire
- 15 numbered survey questions.
- Fieldwork
- 12–25 August 2026.
- Primary series
- Unweighted raw responses from the achieved 500-respondent sample.
Research findings with strong editorial angles
These formulations stay inside what the survey actually measured.
- AI and academic integrity
81% say using AI on a university assignment is cheating, but only 19% would report another student
403 of 500 selected one of the two cheating answers. 96 said they would report another student.
- Student housing
76% experienced at least one of five named student-housing issues
Housemate problems were most common at 34.4%, followed by property-condition issues at 32.2% and Wi-Fi at 29.4%.
- Tuition fees
Only 13% say tuition fees definitely represent good value for money
51% answered Sometimes and 36% answered No. Those categories should remain distinct in coverage.
- Student mental health support
42% say universities do not do enough to support student mental health
This is a respondent-perception measure, not an objective audit of university services.
- Social pressure
47% have felt pressured to drink or party to fit in at least once
29.8% said this had happened multiple times.
- Freshers and preparation
65% worried about finances and 57% worried about making friends before university
Both figures come from a multi-select question, so respondents could choose more than one worry.
