If you’re hungover from taking advantage of happy hours in Leicester, you’re going to need a pick-me-up. So whether you’re trying to make it into lectures or have a load of revision to do in the ole Davey Wilson, here’s the best coffee shops near Leicester University.

Library Café

Where: The David Wilson Library

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being lazy. Fact. That’s what makes the Library Cafe in the David Wilson so good — if you’re at uni already it’s a really short trip. There’s seating for more than 120 people (which means you’ll be able to rest those tired legs) and they use local produce when possible. The coffee itself is Fairtrade so you can warm your soul and body with a hot cup of joe.

6 Degrees Coffee House

Where: 108 London Road

The coffee conesiuers at 6 Degrees Coffee House know what goes into making a good cup. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to sit, maybe do some work, and have a fantastic slice of cake, this is the place for you. Their profits also go to Open Hands, a Christian foundation that seeks to meet the needs of local people in a variety of ways.

VINTAGE 186 COFFEE HOUSE

Vintage 186 Coffee House

Where: 186 Welford Road

We have already discussed the best vegetarian restuarants in Leicester and Vintage 186 is another one of our favourites. It has a vegan menu with the famous Vintage Vegan Breakfast — two hash browns, beans, grilled OR chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, red onion, two slices of toast and yur choice of tea, coffee or orange juice — all for just £4.25.The coffee’s not bad either.

Northen Cobbler

northern cobbler

Where: 104 Queens Road

Coffee shops are pretty much attached to anything nowadays. If you want to buy yourself a bike you’d be hard pressed not to come out clutching a flat white with it. But Northern Cobbler is a bit different. Not only do they serve their own coffee, specifically roasted for their brand, but they also sell hella nice shoes. If there’s an edgier cafe in Leicester — we don’t want to know about it.

Saints of Mokha

saints of mokha

Where: 12 Evington Road

This absolutely gorgeous cafe is the perfect place to sit back and unwind. The guys at Saints take real care over what they send out and their beverages are simply works of art. Make no mistake, Saints of Mokha are taking coffee drinking to the next level.

Room V

Room V

Where: 121A Evington Road

You’ve just finished an hour of reading at the library, uninterupted by anyone. This calls for a celebration. Look no further than Room V, aside from the excellent coffee, there’s a smorgasboard of incredible sweet treats to get your hands on.

Coffee Ethic

Coffee Ethic

Where: 111 Queens Road

Just down the road from the Northern Cobbler is Coffee Ethic. They cater for gluten free, dairy-free, and, vegan diets so there’s a bit of something for everyone in its modern but relaxed interior.
