Beer gardens are the place to be this summer when both the sun and all of us are released from the lockdown. Brighton has some fantastic beer gardens, and what could be better than spending your days sitting, drinking, and chatting at a pub on the seafront.
1. La Plage
Situated right on the beach, it doesn’t get any better than the beer garden at La Plage. Just make sure to leave before the tide comes in, as you don’t want your cocktails floating away.
Address: 171-181, Kings Road Arches, Brighton BN2 1TW
2. Ohso Social
Another beer garden on the beach is Ohso Social, which has plenty of seating for you and all your friends. Plus, in between your cocktail drinking, you could build sandcastles and pretend you’re abroad on a tropical island.
Address: 250a Kings Rd, Brighton BN1 1NB
3. The Black Lion
The Black Lion Pub can be found on Black Lion Street, meaning if you’ve had one too many drinks, you only need to worry about remembering one location rather than two.
Address: 14 Black Lion St, Brighton BN1 1ND
4. The Hare and Hounds
The Hare and Hounds is a modern pub nestled in the centre of Brighton, with a large outdoor seating area. But instead of your typical benches, they have little areas you and your friends can chill in. Plus, the bar serves a great variety of food, including a few classic Thai dishes.
Address: 75 London Rd, Brighton BN1 4JF
5. The Stoneham
The Stoneham Pub is well known across Brighton for its delicious pizzas and mouthwatering burgers. Most people don’t know is that The Stoneham Pub also has an impressive beer garden with a variety of seating and modern decor.
Address: 153 Portland Rd, Hove BN3 5QJ
The beer garden at Sidewinder is a perfect drinking spot all year round, as their garden can be covered with roofing to protect customers from the rain. What’s even better is that the garden becomes illuminated at night with multi-coloured fairy lights and candles.
Address: 65 Upper St James’s St, Kemptown, Brighton BN2 1PJ
7. Palm Court
If you want the seafront views without sand getting in your shoes, why not try Palm Court? Located on the Brighton Palace Pier, the Palm Court beer garden overlooks the sea, offering spectacular views regardless of the time of year or time of day for that matter.
Address: Madeira Dr, Brighton BN2 1TW
8. The Tempest Inn
Offering a variety of seafood and British cuisine, the Tempest Inn is also located on the city’s seafront. They also offer a bottomless brunch, which you could enjoy inside or outside in their modern beer garden.
Address: 159-161 Kings Rd, Brighton BN1 1NB
9. Open House
The Open House in Brighton is a great place for families to go under the sun, as the pub is both child friendly and dog friendly until 8:30 pm. The pub also shows off locally produced artwork, and in the winter, they also bring out a log burner.
