If you’re looking for outdoor go-karting to make the most of the great weather, Drive-Tech is the place for you. Located near Castle Combe, their circuit allows you to reach exhilarating speeds in a friendly outdoor environment. Offering adult karting races and 1:1 training sessions, they suit all experience levels. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what to expect. Upon signing up for the Public Karting Grand Prix, you’ll be provided with all necessary kit, a welcome introduction, and given a safety briefing and a DVD presentation. For the competition itself, you’ll get to do practice laps followed by four qualifying heats. These decide who can race in the final, with the top three finalists awarded trophies. The Public Kart Grand Prix lasts around three hours and spectators are welcome. Prices range from £50-£53. Also, those wanting to experience the thrill of go-karting without a racing format can go to Arrive and Drive karting sessions. Perfect for both individuals and small groups, this allows you to complete laps in as much or as little time as you want. Check out their website to purchase session vouchers, which are a great birthday gift or stocking filler.
4. Weston Lodge
Those wanting the ultimate grand prix experience should look no further than Weston Lodge. Alongside a variety of outdoor activities such as clay pigeon shooting, they offer off-road karting, so you can really test your driving ability. As well as this, their Grand Prix experience gives drivers the chance to compete in four races of five laps each. Each race is timed individually, with the shortest combined race time deciding the winner. You’ll experience rough terrain carting, complete with a whole lot of twisting, turning and overtaking. It’s truly a day out like no other. Even better, once the races finish, the event ends with a medal ceremony for the winners.
