Twycross Zoo
Not quite in Nottingham, but not far out, is the great Twycross Zoo. The zoo works with charities and conservation policies to help animals whose species are currently endangered. When visiting Twycross, you can see howler monkeys, leopards, bush dogs, rhinos, and zebras.
Nottingham Botanic Gardens
At Wollaton Hall, you can visit the HPS Nottingham Botanic Garden, which has a range of plants, stories, history and gorgeous scenery for you to explore.
Robin Hoods Wheelgate Park
Over in Newark is the Robin Hoods Wheelgate Park, which you can visit from April 12th to explore everything they have on offer. Connected to Twin Lakes, Wheelgate Park has a Pharoah Zone, falconry, a water park and a tropical zone.
National Water Sports Centre
The National Water Sports Centre has a white watercourse, a regatta lake, and is the venue for flatwater canoe and kayak time GB Olympic! If you fancy giving it a go, then visit the Sports Centre now! But layer up, that water won’t be warm!
Alton Towers
Nottingham is also one of the few cities that is pretty close to Stoke-on-Trent, and therefore, Alton Towers. The huge theme park has water rides, a kids section, huge adrenaline seeker rides, and a lovely set of botanic gardens for you to peruse!
