One of the things we all look forward to doing in our summer break is going to a festival, whether it be a classical music festival, a film festival, or even a food and drink festival.
Many of our favourite festivals have been cancelled or postponed throughout 2020 due to the pandemic, but here are all the best festivals in Nottingham scheduled for 2021 that we can look forward to.
1. Splendour
Splendour Festival will be returning to Nottingham in its usual spot at Wollaton Park on Saturday 24th July 2021. Tickets are already on sale, but the line up has not yet been announced. The festival has had many well known past headliners, including Rag n Bone Man in 2019, Paloma Faith in 2018, and Kaiser Chiefs in 2017. General admission tickets start at £61.60, but Nottingham residents can purchase cheaper tickets, and there are also VIP ticket options available.
2. Dot to dot
If you enjoy alternative rock and indie music then the Dot to Dot music festival may be the best Nottingham festival for you. Although a date has not yet been released for 2021 and tickets are not on sale, this festival has been welcomed in various cities since 2018, including Manchester and Bristol as well as Nottingham.
3. Hockley Hustle
The Hockley Hustle is a music festival which will also be returning to Nottingham in 2021, although the dates are yet to be announced. Since the festival started back in 2006, it has raised almost £200,000 for various local charities, through its fantastic range of music, performers, art and food! It really is a festival like no other, and definitely, one not to be missed.
4. Newark Festival
The Newark Festival will return to Riverside Park on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th of August 2021. Although the line up has not yet been announced the Friday will be a 90s night and the Saturday will be everything 80s. Tickets range in prices depending on age, and when you buy your tickets.
5. Nottingham Riverside Festival
Nottingham Riverside Festival is the biggest free festival in the East Midlands and will be returning to Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment in 2021 after being cancelled due to the pandemic. Some of the highlights of past Riverside Festivals include fireworks displays, Dragon boat challenges and street performers, so who knows what 2021 could bring.
6. Robin Hood Festival
2021 will bring the 37th annual Robin Hood Festival to Sherwood Forest where for 7 days you can watch live re-enactments, sword-fighting, archery, singing and dancing. There are also food, drink, and craft stalls at the festival, as well as plenty of activities on offer for the whole family to get involved with.
7. Nottingham Food Festival
Everyone enjoys food, and there is nothing better than trying artisan food and al fresco dining with your friends and family during a Nottinghamshire summer. You can even bring your dogs with you, so it really is a festival for the whole family. This festival is also based in Wollaton Park, and despite being cancelled in 2020 we hope to see the festival again in August 2021. Adult tickets are usually £10, and children 5 and under are just £3.
8. Festival of Food & Drink at Clumber Park
The popular Festival of Food & Drink will return to Clumber Park in September 2021. There will be a variety of cooking classes, guest appearances from celebrity chefs, pop up cafes, and most importantly…food and drinks!
9. The Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival
The annual Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival is loved by many people, but despite being cancelled for 2020 the festival will return in October 2021.
