Now that exams and coursework deadlines are coming to an end and lockdown restrictions are lifting in the UK, Nottingham is hosting an array of summer events for students. Whether you are desperate for a club night or you are a music and festival lover, you are bound to find something fun to do over the summer in Nottingham before you return home for the holidays.

Cirque Du Soul: Nottingham // Summer Showdown

21st June marks the opening party of Nottingham’s Rock City. There will be three rooms playing Disco, Drum n Bass, Hip Hop, and House music, as well as extravagant décor and Circus performers. Unfortunately, there are no tickets available at the moment, but you can join a waiting list here in case any tickets do become available.

Pub In A Club Pryzm

Pryzm will be hosting their Pub In A Club sessions every Friday throughout the first half of June. Dates include 3rd June, 4th June, 5th June, 7th June, 10th June, 12th June, 14th June, 17th June, and 19th June. They will be turning their dance floors into a pub whilst covid-19 restrictions are still in place. You can pre-book tables for 6 people for £30 here.

CRISIS Indoor Sessions

During June, CRISIS will be holding sit down sessions at Rock City every Monday and Wednesday. These will be completely covid-safe, in line with the government regulations which will exist until June 21st. Dates include 2nd June, 7th June, 9th June, 14th June, and 16th June. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

CRISIS All Nighter

On 23rd June, CRISIS will be back at Rock City for its first unrestricted event. As the name suggests, the club will be open for an extended time, until 6am. Unfortunately (and unsurprisingly) tickets are now sold out for this event on the CRISIS website, but you may be able to purchase one from a resale app such as UniSalad.

Splendour Festival

On 24th July, Splendour Festival is returning to Wollaton Park, with headliners such as Rick Astley, Richard Ashcroft, and Supergrass. Other acts include The Vamps, Becky Hill, and Belinda Carlisle. Tickets cost just over £60, but this price is reduced to £50 if you are a Nottingham resident.

Detonate Festival

Detonate Festival will take place on 25th September, towards the end of the summer, at Colwick Country Park in Nottingham. Unfortunately, tickets are sold out, but you can join a waiting list in case any tickets become available.

Dot To Dot Festival

On 26th September, Dot To Dot Festival will return to Nottingham. Tickets for the Bristol version of the event are already sold out, but there are still tickets available for Nottingham for £28. The line-up is perfect for indie music fans, including acts such as Sports Team, Oscar Lang, Low Island, Drug Store Romeos, and Do Nothing.
