Although they may not be open – due to obvious reasons – this doesn’t mean you get to miss out on some of the best nightclubs in Nottingham. And for all those up and coming freshers coming up to Trent or Uni of Nottingham, here are some of the best night outs you can experience once Miss Rona decides to do a disappearing act.

Rock City

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Rock City is Nottingham’s number one nightclub that not only caters to all music tastes but has showcased some of the best musical talents from around the world in gigs over the years.

Not only is there the main hall where you can dance to some of your favourite hits, but there is the Black Cherry Lounge, playing the best tracks in hip-hop, rap and grime. However, if you enjoy more pop-punk and alternative anthems, then the Basement is the room for you.

For students, Rock City club nights are some of the best. The ones to look out for students are “Tuned Thursdays” – specifically for students where you can get 2-4-1 drinks all night. Other great nights for students include “Get Lucky” Fridays with some of the best chart tunes, as well as £2.50 cocktails all night. Then there is “Rebel Rebel” Saturdays.

Pryzm

PRYZM is not unique to just Nottingham – as there are many others in other major cities – but this doesn’t make it any less special! Situated in the middle of the city centre, PRYZM has four themed bars on offer, again serving to all music tastes. One of the most popular rooms to definitely go to is the Vinyl room – full of everyone’s favourite hits.

For students, “Tape Tuesdays” is the night to experience as everyone can experience music from soul and disco to grime and even them cheesy pop hits that some people admit they hate, but deep (deep) down they secretly love…

The Bodega

The Bodega is both great if you want a quiet drink with your mates and to enjoy the background music on the bottom floor in the social club. Or, if you are wanting a club night then you can make your way to the top floor to enjoy one of their popular club nights. For any fans of Indie music, then The Bodega is the place to go!

One of the most popular student nights is “Indie Wednesdays”, with only £3 entry, a free drink on arrival and 2-4-1 drinks all night to enjoy some of your favourite Indie classics. If you are wanting the cheesier pop feels, then “The Pop Confessional” night on a Friday where you can enjoy tunes just like that. And what’s even better if there is free entry before midnight!

Pom Pom

Although it may not be the biggest nightclub in Nottingham, it is still one of the best and most popular! The two rooms on offer in the club offer both popular music that everyone loves in the main room, as well as grime and rap in the R&B room.

“Dirty Mondays” are on a Monday (by no surprise) and are exclusive only to students. If you book up early enough, you can get free entry. And what makes it even better is there is once again 2-4-1 drinks all night.

Ocean

These are a favourite of Nottingham Trent students as it is the time on “Ocean Wednesdays” where all societies come out dressed in their chosen outfits of the week for their favourite night of the week.

Wednesday nights at Ocean are a tradition for Trent students so if you are attending Trent in September and you join a society, then don’t be surprised if your nights out to Ocean are fancy dressed as this is also a well-known tradition within the uni.

Ink

Within the city, Ink is known for its out of this world sound system, lighting that is a similar style to festival and their video walls. There are four clubs – each with its own theme – and eight bars so you are spoilt for choice!

Ink is open both on a Friday and Saturday and is even better as drinks only start at £2 – perfect for students.

NG – One

NG – One may be further afield for students, but this stands as one of the biggest nightclubs in the city, meaning the more people there are, the better and bigger the atmosphere. The party paradise continues throughout a whole night for anyone in attendance as there is four bars across the two floors of the club.

For those wanting to stay up till dawn, then NG-One is the place for you as partygoers can dance to sunrise!

Eleven

Located in the Hockley area you can find Eleven. Similar to The Bodega, Eleven has two sides to it. On one hand, it is a cocktail bar and lounge, where you can enjoy a few cocktails with the girls or a quiet drink with the boys. However, if you are more in a party mood then stay until night and Eleven transforms into an upbeat nightclub.

Every Saturday night you can enjoy the sound of soul until the early hours of the morning, as well as regular DJ sets playing you the best dance and house music to get you pumped up for the night ahead.

Stealth

If you are a fan of dance or drum n’ bass, then Stealth is the place for you. After starting all the way back in 2004, Stealth has become one of the best nightclubs in the Midlands. In the past, the venue has seen DJ sets performed by Annie Mac, MK and Disclosure.

Students from both Trent and Uni of Nottingham look forward to a night out at Stealth as students can enjoy “Bubblin’ Tuesdays”.

So, there you have it. These are some of the best clubs on offer in Nottingham for you to discover – eventually, once Coronavirus decides to disappear – so when the time comes, check them for yourself!
