Glasgow is a great city filled with history, culture and entertainment. The city has three universities; Glasgow Caledonian University, the University of Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow with plenty of student accommodation to choose from.

Tramworks is perfect as it has plenty of independent living and spacious studios. There is also secure bike storage, a gym and a launderette on site. Plus, there is also car parking on-site for an extra charge, which is hard to find in any city.

George Street 

In the heart of Glasgow, you can just roll out of bed and into lectures. They’re just outside of the University of Strathclyde, a 5-minute walk to Caledonian, and a short journey away from the University of Glasgow. The modern studios are cosy, with en-suite bathrooms and your own kitchen. There are also shared spaces like a gym, an on-site cinema room, and a TV room for any boxset fans. Prices start from £179 per week for the Silver Ensuite.

Merchant City House

If a huge student complex isn’t what you imagine yourself living in, then Merchant City House could be the place for you, as it has just 181 rooms. It is located in the centre of Glasgow, a 10 minute walk from both the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University or a 20 minute walk from the University of Glasgow. All of the rooms have an en-suite, and the house is really close to shops, pubs and bars.

A classic or accessible en-suite room costs £114 a week, but there are also studio flats available. There is also bike storage, laundry facilities and CCTV at the site. It’s easily one of the best halls in Glagow.

Blackfriars

From just £115 a week, you could be living in Blackfriars, which is just a short 5 minute walk from the University of Strathclyde. There are more than 500 rooms available, as well as a ground floor common room for you to socialise with your neighbours and flatmates, which is furnished with sofas, a tv, and even a free ping pong table!

Whether you want a classic ensuite, studio, or premium option, there will be a room that’s right for you. There is also car parking on-site for an extra charge, bike storage, a launderette, vending machines and printing facilities.

Thurso Street

Each year more than 400 students get to call Thurso Street their home, as the riverside property is well known for its sociable atmosphere. In fact, it’s easily one of the best halls in Glasgow. There are plenty of rooms available, such as classic en-suites, studios, premium versions, an accessible flat or a two-bedroom flat. You can rent a classic en-suite for £146 a week or a premium studio for £185 a week.

Kelvin Court

Kelvin Court is perfect for students studying at the University of Glasgow as it’s just a short walk from the campus. There are a variety of rooms available from £150 a week, but whether you share a kitchen or not doesn’t matter as thanks to the common rooms, you’ll be able to do plenty of socialising. In the summer, there are usually events happening in the courtyard, in case you get bored of all of the cafes and bars in the area and the ping pong table in the common room.

Havannah House 

Fancy living somewhere self-catered with a three-quarter bed, study room, common room, en-suite, gardens, cinema room and on-site maintenance? Then Havannah House might be an option for you. Prices start from £133 per week.

Gallery Apartments 

Right in the city centre, Gallery Apartments has plenty of gorgeous classic studios with private bathrooms and a kitchenette. There is even the option of split-level apartments and two-bedroom apartments for anyone looking for extra space. On-site, there’s a gym, laundry room, cinema room and each room has a king-sized bed. Prices start from £185 per person.

University of Glasgow

Cairncross House 

The rent for Cairncross House includes bed linen, utilities, WiFi, insurance, as well as well equipped bedrooms and kitchens, common rooms, study rooms and computer labs. Cairncross is a 15-minute walk from the university and a short walk from the city centre. Prices start from £90.65 a week.

Kelvinhaugh Gate 

With a room at Kelvinhaugh Gate, you get bed linen, WiFi, contents insurance, a well-equipped bedroom, kitchen, en-suite, on-site laundry facilities, and accommodation that is close to both your university and the city centre.

Wolfson Hall 

Wolfson Hall is Glasgow university’s only catered halls, and in the rent, you also get a bus pass worth £400 for travel to the university and around the city. In addition to that, you get the choice of the en-suite or standard room as well as access to common rooms, snack kitchen, common rooms, TV room, PC lab, and a games room.

University of Strathclyde Glasgow

Andrew Ure Hall 

5 minutes walk from Strathclyde High Street campus, Andrew Ure Hall has plenty of flats which are shared between 4 or 6 students. The buildings have a secure entry system, elevators, a launderette and nearby recycling facilities. The rooms in Andrew Ure are single study rooms with a sink, shared bathroom and shared kitchen. Prices start from £110 per week for the coming academic year.

Birkbeck Court 

Birkbeck Court is at the edge of the Campus Village and is made up of shared flats. Each flat in Birkbeck is shared between 6 people. It is close to the university library and a local supermarket, as well as being only 10 mins from the city centre. Prices start from £104 per week.
