Knowing where the best public libraries in Coventry are can make studying that little bit easier. There will likely be several libraries on campus, but sometimes it’s good to get away from university to refresh. After all, spending all your time in the same place can be a little boring and a public library can offer somewhere new to study. Public libraries are all over Coventry city, so there’s bound to be one near to where you live. With that in mind, we’ve listed the best public libraries in Coventry for you to find the perfect spot to study next.

Coventry’s Central Library is open every day of the week: 9am -7pm weekdays, 9am -4:30pm on Saturdays and 12pm -4pm on Sundays. It’s located in Coventry Market, so if you need to get a snack as a break or to do your shopping on the way home, this public library is in the perfect spot. In addition to being a library, there is also an events calendar with weekly, monthly or one-off events taking place. You can also take out books in a number of different languages from French to Punjabi. If your New Year’s resolution is to learn a new language (you can find some more here), then this is the perfect place to go.

Stoke Library

Address: Kingsway, CV2 4EA

This library is open from 9am to 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays (it’s closed on Wednesdays and Sundays). The public library has free wifi and allows you to have 2 hours of free computer use a day, which is great for Coventry students. It also holds various free events and activities, such as a conversation cafe, a readers group, a writers group and a local history group. So, no matter if you’re looking for a new study space or a way of learning more about Coventry there’s something for everyone at this public library.

Hillfields Library

Address: 8 Victoria Street, CV1 5LZ

This public library isn’t open as often as the others, however remains a great spot to while away the hours in Coventry. It’s open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, so there’s still plenty of time to visit. It’s also perfect for students living in or near to Hillfields, who have a free day during the week. In addition to all the usual stuff (book loans, free wifi/computer access, that kind of thing), there is also a spoken English conversation cafe. A perfect way to improve your English if you’re an international student living in Coventry, or even just to meet new people and have a chat in a public library.

Foleshill Library

Address: Broad Street, CV6 5BG

Foleshill library is open from 9am to 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, as well as from 9am to 4pm on Saturday. Like many of the other public libraries in Coventry, it’s closed on Wednesday and Sunday. At Foleshill, you can access books and newspapers for learning a second language in Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. Additionally, there is a local history club, so you can find out everything there is to know about Coventry. This library also has meeting rooms for hire, so if you’re looking for a new spot to work on that group presentation, then this could be somewhere to check out.
