Swansea is home to lots of bars and clubs, offering a range of options for those looking for a night out on a budget. But it can be difficult to know which bars are the cheapest, and avoid those that will leave you with more problems than a hangover. Luckily, we’ve made a list of cheap and affordable bars in Swansea where you can find drinks at good prices, and even a bit of entertainment as well!
Crosskeys
Crosskeys is a pub right in the city centre of Swansea, making it a popular bar amongst locals and students. It’s one of Wales’ oldest pubs, dating back to the 1300s! It’s kept its charm as the building is pretty old-fashioned, but inside is warm and comfortable, and obviously the prices are great. They have different events too such as rock nights and bingo, so you don’t even need to go anywhere else.
Address: 12 St Mary Street, Swansea, United Kingdom
Wetherspoons
Wetherspoons pubs and bars are always popular with students since they’re always so cheap. Swansea has two Wetherspoon pubs around a five minute walk away from each other, so you even have a choice! The first one is Potters Wheel, which isn’t in the city centre but is right next to a club. It’s pretty small but cosy, and there are always a few locals in there on quieter nights. The other one is Bank Statement, which is in the same place as all of the clubs. This pub is bigger with those dreaded stairs to climb, and sometimes they even play music on a busy weekend night. Whichever Wetherspoons you go to, at least it’s student/budget-friendly as one of the cheap bars in Swansea.

Copper is one of Swansea’s more relaxed bars, as it isn’t open all night and definitely doesn’t turn into a club. Most seats are sofas and there’s always music playing in the back. Downstairs there is even a games room with a table tennis table, pool table, and a few consoles! They also have the cutest dog, which is obviously the main reason you should go visit. It’s a totally different vibe, but still offers a great night out in Swansea – as well as cheap drinks.
