This Authentic Chinese cuisine eatery can be found hidden away on a city centre side street. The prices are very student friendly and the reviews of the food are brilliant. The makers of Square Peg wanted to give it a comfortable environment where people could come relax for a couple of hours, maybe do some work with their famous coffee and perhaps a bite to eat of their homemade delicious cakes or brunch options. Starting to get more popular with the students with reviews such as Lovely little place; friendly, homely and all profits going to charity. 3. Thai Taste, Swansea Market

This isn’t somewhere you would think to go to but this authentic Thai eatery is so yummy it earns its way on this list. It already has a cult following from plenty of locals and students alike. You’ll find it in Swansea market where they’ll serve Pad priew wan chicken or pork; larb moo; queyteow tom yum noodle soup plus lots more. The reviews are promising with Takethestep, Tripadvisor saying “If you are looking for authentic tasting Thai food at a fair price and don’t fancy a restaurant head to this little gem.”

4. Pop up restaurant at Carreg Adventure, Gower

 

This pop up is located in the renovated Stouthall Mansion and serves all different cuisines depending on the pop up! Its something different and well worth a visit, especially for the bustle of the atmosphere! Poshpop on TripAdvisor said “The food was outstanding everything was absolutely done to perfection. And the lemon desserts are better than what we had in Italy.”

5. Lezzet Authentic restaurant, Penllergaer

We battled with whether to put this on the list as it is a little further out so you may need a car to get here… but it’s so deserving of the spot on the list and you’ll agree if you’ve been!

Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, it serves alfresco Turkish and Mediterranean food cooked in stone oven or charcoal grill. It is located on the edge of Penllergaer Woods. Some foods served are chicken Shish, Turkish Pide and Stonebaked pizzas. Nichola Rees said on Facebook “Visited this lovely place today. Lush food, takes me back to Turkey. Friendly staff, can’t wait to go back evening time.”

6. Belle Vue Bistro, Swansea

Easily one of the best restaurants in Swansea, Belle Vue Bistro is a family-run restaurant and coffee shop in Swansea Bay. Whether you’re looking for a juicy fillet steak, burger or chicken parmiagiana, their experienced chefs are more than accommodating.

Situated in the Old Central Police Station in Swansea, if you haven’t visited HQ Urban Kitchen, you need to head here right away.

Whether their ‘full Welsh breakfast’ (breakfasts served until 11.30am FYI!), or a delicious brunch (served all day), HQ Urban Kitchen has everything you could ask for. If you simply want a snack, or the weather’s heating up, they also have some cold options available, including sandwiches on lightly toasted sourdough, malted granary or gluten free bread.
