Leicester Christmas Market Event
Running along from High Street to Gallowtree Gate, this market is right in the heart of the city. This makes it easily accessible to join in on the fun whilst doing your Christmas shopping. It looks to be one of the best Christmas events happening this year in Leicester. There will be a wide selection of stalls to browse through that range from gifts to delicious treats. That’s not all! Simultaneously, this year’s festivities will also include a ride on the Wheel of Light and a glide across the ice rink, which are both perfect places to drag your mates to for an evening out or for couples to enjoy a romantic night together.
The market runs from Thursday 13th November to Sunday 28th December, so be sure to check it out whilst it’s still in town! Additionally, there is also an Enlightened Leicester light trail on at Abbey Park as part of the event, which sounds really nice!
Leicester Christmas Light Switch-On
Arguably the most magical (and the best) Christmas event of the year in Leicester. Join the crowds at the Clock Tower on Wednesday 19th November from 5pm to 8pm to enjoy the sights of the Clock Tower tree and all the streetlights lit up! But that’s not all! There will also be live music, street performances, and a whole host of entertainment. You can soak up the atmosphere even more by walking along to the Christmas market, venture over to the funfair in Humberstone Gate, or check out the views from the Wheel of Light. So come along, grab a hot chocolate from one of the market stalls and huddle up with your flatmates to watch the beautiful display!

LOROS Christmas Concert Event in Leicester
For those wishing for an evening of Christmas cheer, this Christmas event is the best place to experience some enchanting carol-singing. Based in the beautiful Leicester Cathedral, this event is to raise money for Hospice Care for Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
Tickets will be £22.50 for adults (with tickets for children too), and it will be held on Wednesday 17th December. Furthermore, LOROS does such important charity work for the community, so it is really worth supporting them!
Belvoir Castle Christmas events
This breath-taking location is in Grantham, just between the border of Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. But the travel will be well worth it! There are several Christmas events here that are the best for all to enjoy over the festive period.
You can meet Santa in his grotto from the 29th of November to the 31st of December, which is perfect to invite your younger siblings to. Alongside this there will be a Search for Santa. This is held every weekend from the 29th of November to 31st of December. Plus a Festive Mice Trail — which is new for 2025!
Lastly, impress your flatmates this year by tagging along to the Wreath Making Workshop. An evening of beautiful crafts, a glass of bubbles, and a mince pie that will take place on both the 27th of November and the 5th of December. Tickets are £60 per person. There is a limit on space, so be sure to book quick!
For a festive date with friends or your partner, consider booking a Christmas Afternoon Tea! There will be a mouth-watering choice of yuletide treats to enjoy, along with the experience of dining in an elegant castle! This one is definitely the best Christmas event in Leicester yet!
Leicester’s Winter Wonderland 2025
Running between December 17th to 18th at Wigston College (Station Road, LE18 2DS) will be the annual Winter Wonderland. It’s such a fun Christmas event to go to! Just a bus ride away from Leicester city centre awaits a magical evening of festive fun! The event starts at 7pm and tickets are £4 per person. It looks like it will be a very entertaining night!
Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre Christmas Fair
On Saturday 15th November (between 10am and 4pm) Bosworth Battlefield Heritage site will be transformed into a wonderful Christmas Fair, featuring the stalls to be shopping from this festive season. There will be a range of stalls specialising in handmade gifts to artisan homeware. These will be situated all around the site. And the best part? This Christmas event in Leicester is completely free of charge!
Bosworth Battlefield is located in Leicester just past Desford, above Hinckley. So ask your mates to give you a lift!
Christmas Tractor Run
Finally, now this is my most anticipated Christmas event! The Christmas Tractor Run is only 8 weeks away! Calling all around South Leicestershire on Sunday 21st December (more info on timings and a full list of locations to come soon!) will be 300 tractors all well-decorated and lit up for the festive season. I fully recommend this evening, just be sure to wrap up warm and have hot drinks at the ready!
You can follow this event live and as it is my local one you might be able to spot me along the route! Be sure to check if the cafes in each area are involved with the event, as this will be a good place to try out some local eatery spots you haven’t gotten around to yet.
