As summer comes to an end, many of us can agree that there was one thing keeping us from enjoying the (not so hot) UK heat: and that was the no good Love Island UK. In honour of the scandals it brought, lets look back on the 2025 seasons best bits!

1. “But did I squeeze it?”

Dejon, Dejon, Dejon. Where do we start.

Skipping past the context of this disastrous statement he made, Dejon never failed to surprise us with…everything he said. This one however, has been replaying on everyone’s minds non-stop and I fear it’ll go down as one of the top quotes in love island history. A rocky and at times controversial group, but we couldn’t call it an iconic season without them!

2. Triangles

This season contained ‘the year of the love triangle’, where members such as Harry, Helena, Toni, Conor, where often involved in one (or the same) love triangle. Great for us of course – we love the drama – but the mess often got a bit too much for the ones living in the villa.

It was often a question of “who will they pick?” and seeing the faces when their second option would be left single or even dumped from the villa. Brutal.

3. Toni’s iconic one-liners

From constantly referring to Ben as ‘pal’ to calling Harrison ‘weird’…and much, much worse… to being the queen of standing on business only for what she wants. Toni never failed to be iconic and remind everyone she didn’t have time for small minded thinking and unfriendly behaviour. She tried her best with the girls explaining that they couldn’t let men get in between them, although at times they did, telling one of them “you don’t owe me anything, I don’t owe you anything, he does.”

She was a queen before, during and of course is still, but now officially as the Queen of the Villa! Go girl!

4. Talent show

This season we saw dancing, motivational speeches, magic and clowns.

Conor and Megan especially smashed their performance singing ‘the start of something new’ from High School Musical. Sorry did I say Conor and Megan? I meant Troy and Gabriella, easy mistake. Yas clocked us all with her posture training and I am almost certain as you read this you straightened up your back.

All amazing acts, but Helena was the winner of the night with her creative ‘No Good Airlines’ and her slight disses towards every islander, luckily getting only laughs and good comments back!

5. Cach

Do I even need to add any more? Kidding.

Cach, our beloved winner, was himself and only that from the minute he stepped on screen. The dancing fashionista displayed his true emotions to the screen (although he claims it to be AI) and reminded us that it is okay not to be okay!

He always stayed true to how he felt and stayed the unproblematic king he came in as. His happy attitude and – often dry – humour kept the villa shining and everyone smiling. And don’t forget his performance for the talent show! The public clearly made the right choice in voting for their winner.

5. Paddle board date

You know what, more than anything, this was an IMPRESSIVE date – and definitely a first! No worries about ice breakers (or deal breakers), all Yas and Jamie needed to figure out was how to say afloat.

Yasmin even showed off her posture skills by standing on the board, pretending she was in the titanic, with Jamie and his heart eyes watching! It ended perfectly for them though with them kissing and talking about this new found connection. Bless.

6. Shakira and her pink outfits

As we watched through the season, Shakira stunned every time. There was one thing I noticed however, the girl LOVES her pink!

I think I can speak for everyone when I say Shakira was definitely the Disney Princess of the season!

7. Dejon breaking the fourth wall

Seeing Dejon stare us all in the eyes definitely wasn’t something I thought I’d have to see, but here we are… In the eyes of the viewers, this move was anything but helpful for the couple.

Many thought this was proving Dejon’s ‘game-playing’ and that he wasn’t there for genuine connections but was there to win. Since the show ended, it’s been nothing short of theories and discussions for Meg and Dejon’s relationship, so we will wait and see how it all turns out!

8. Yas and scary motherhood

I think a lot of us share the fear that appeared on Yas’ face when those toy babies came out… “not today Satan”. Love Island’s baby challenge has always been chaotic, and this year we had Yas reminding us of her unfiltered cat-mum attitude and a severe hatred for the plastic child just given to her.

She was already a parent to her cat Miaow-Miaow (rest in peace) and was very clearly not wanting to take in anymore babies! Twitter then crowned her for her honesty on TV and declared her one of the realist Islanders of the season.

9. The ‘outsiders’ winning

With their new found name of being ‘The Outsiders’, Toni, Yas and Shakira were the 2025 UK Love Island finalists. Yas and Jamie at third place, Shakira and Harry coming second, and Toni and Cach taking the crown, but all of them earning the hearts of the viewers, by just being themselves.

In a recent interview, Toni spoke on how the phrase “this isn’t friendship island” was thrown around a bit too much, because why can’t it be? The three girls redefined what Love Island was this year, staying their true selves and sticking with each other through the thick and thin of the drama.

What do you think – have we missed any other top moments from Love Island 2025?
