As we wait patiently for season four of Bridgerton and count down the days until uni move-in, I found myself wondering which universities these characters would attend. Because honestly, imagining Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury at a Union bar is funny to me, so, I matched their personalities to the campuses that I believe suit them best.
1. Queen Charlotte — Oxford
I feel like this one is obvious, right? She’s the pinnacle of prestige; well-respected with a stunning sense of style that mirrors Oxford’s classic architecture well. Much like the university itself, she carries a reputation as a symbol of excellence and tradition. Like Oxford, she sits high above the rest, almost untouchable.
2. Lady Danbury — University of Cambridge
Lady Danbury is bold and influential; a presence that demands respect. She is both intelligent and strategic. Cambridge’s prestigious history and reputation suit her perfectly, where her sharp mind would naturally stand out.
3. Anthony Bridgerton — London School of Economics (LSE)
Anthony Bridgerton’s leadership, charm, and ambition would be rewarded at the London School of Economics. He’d be all over the place, running societies, networking, attending formal events, and still, somehow, acing his course and attending all of his lectures.
4. Benedict Bridgerton — University of the Arts London (UAL)
Again, maybe another obvious one, given that his whole thing is art. Benedict is creative with a slightly unconventional charm and rebellious flair that would thrive at UAL. He challenges the norms and would love the variety of art and design studios ready for his creative experiments.
5. Colin Bridgerton — University of Edinburgh
He loves to travel, so it makes sense for him to want to be further from home. He’s adventurous and wants new experiences, which makes Edinburgh the perfect fit. He’d enjoy the historic streets and rich culture, turning every adventure there into a wonderful story.
6. Daphne Bridgerton — University of St Andrews
She is beauty, she is grace, she is effortlessly charming; Daphne Bridgerton would thrive at St Andrews. Quiet and poised, she moves through university life with understated elegance, never needing to be the centre of attention. Like the university, she’s classic, sophisticated, but not as intimidating as Oxbridge.
7. Eloise Bridgerton — University of Manchester
Outspoken and socially conscious, Eloise would dive headfirst into debates and societies. She is curious, a bit rebellious, and fiercely independent, which suits her perfectly at the University of Manchester, known for its activism and progressive societies.
8. Francesca Bridgerton — University of York
Francesca is quietly intelligent, reserved, and mysterious, so I can easily see her at the University of York. The city’s historic, slightly tucked-away charm fits her personality perfectly. She may be underrated, but she is quietly accomplished.
9. Penelope Featherington — City St George’s, University of London
Known for its top journalism course, Penelope could continue her writing endeavours at this university (though maybe this time without spilling the secrets of her closest friends and family). London is a busy city with stories everywhere; there’s no doubt she’d be swimming in writing projects.
